Let’s Talk About SKIN baby…

Hello there Pouting Babes!

So, I’ve noticed a lot of girls don’t seem to know what skin type they have and don’t often dress according to what suits them best, making them look washed out, pale and stressed.

Don’t know what skin type you have? Let’s help you out…

Compare your skin to one of the following celebs to find out what skin type you have!

Pale/Soft/Fair Skin Type

Medium/Golden/Rosy (Ruddy) Skin Type

(Quick tip: If you’re still not sure if you’re between pale and medium, check your veins in your arms while in natural light. If the veins look blue, you are in the fair/pale catagory, if they look green, you’re in the medium/golden catagory.)

Deep/Olive/Light Brown Skin Type

Rich/Dark Brown/Chocolate Skin Type

Alhough these girls all have different skin, there are 4 catagories you can place them in when it comes to Skin Types. This way you can colour coordinate from your wardrobe to your hair colour to the type of skin that you have.

Hair Colour Tips:

Pale/Soft/Fair Skin Type:

Choose neutral tones: ash blonde, ash brown, dark brown or aubyn. Red, pale or yellow blonde and black are usually a total disaster.

Medium/Golden/Rosy (Ruddy) Skin Type:

Go for dark rich tones with blue notes, such as burgundy or deep auburn, to counteract the sallowness in your skin, natural blondes also look good on this skin type.

Deep/Olive/Light Brown Skin Type:

Dark hair and deep skin is one of perfect combinations, so keep your natural dark hair and don’t go blonde. To make it more exciting, you should add a few rich highlights in any of the red shades from burgundy to chestnut.

Rich/Dark Brown/Chocolate Skin Type:

Avoid white or jet-black hair, and consider red highlights, a warm gold, auburn, chocolate or deep, rich brown colours.

Clothing & Makeup Colours:

Pale/Soft/Fair Skin Type:

Clothing:

Light and summery colours work well for your skin type, stay away from blacks and maybe opt for light grey and neutral browns and beiges instead.

Makeup:

Rosy pinks, baby blues and neautral colours suit your skin type best when it comes to makeup. Stay away from anything dramatic or bright as it contrasts with your skin.

Medium/Golden/Rosy (Ruddy) Skin Type:

Clothing:

Your skin type is the best to work with and almost any colour works on you. Try to stay away from faded colours and opt for the brightest and most colourful. Blacks are a no-go.

Makeup:

Bold, neutral, colourful or dramatic. Everything looks good on you. Just try to stay away from anything too light.

Deep/Olive/Light Brown Skin Type:

Clothing:

Bright colours and earthy browns look best on you. You can pull black off like a pro and white looks amazing. Stay away from yellows, faded greens and faded oranges though.

Makeup:

Browns, reds, plums and greys look best on you and will accentuate your skin tone best. Stay away from bold summery, bright or light colours like white or baby pink.

Rich/Dark Brown/Chocolate Skin Type:

Clothing:

In the clothing department you can pull anything off, from bright yellow to black. Every colour suits your skin type, but try to stay away from mustardy colours.

Makeup:

Dark reds, browns, plums and greys look amazing on you, stay away from any bright or bright coloured makeup.
