50 Shades of Grey: What’s All the Fuss About?

Hello my darling Pouters!

If you’re anything like me, you hear stories here and there about the latest book that’s being released, but unless there’s a massive outbreak of new fans and every second person is talking about it, you don’t really give any notice.

Well, this new book series called Fifty Shades, the first being Fifty Shades of Grey by EL James (The second is Fifty Shades Darker, and the final one Fifty Shades Freed) , seems to be one of those books and according to (my favourite source) Wikipedia, it “topped best-seller lists in the United Kingdom, United States, and around the world. The series has sold around 20 million copies worldwide, with book rights having been sold in 37 countries, and set the record as the fastest-selling paperback of all time, surpassing the Harry Potter series. Critical reception of the novel has been mixed.”

Soooo forgive me for not blogging about it sooner, because apparently, I missed an epidemic and I haven’t even read the book yet. Sorry.

I would love to though, it sounds interesting.

The book’s focus on a billionaire named Christian Grey, who becomes romantically involved with a sexually inexperienced young woman named Anastasia Steele and asks her to become his “submissive,” or sex slave. She’s at first quite disturbed by the whole BDSM thing, but then slowly gets into it and also finds out that Christian was abused as a child, which is why he likes it so much (how stereotypical of you E L James).

Anyway, would you  buy the book and have you read it yet?

I’d probably just borrow it from someone since I’m not a big reader myself.

Have an awesome Thursday Pouters!

♥Marinda Liza♥
