Chanel Spring 2012 Makeup Collection

Hello again darling pouting beauties…

Hope you all had a fab weekend and relaxed in the lovely summer sun? Or for those who don’t live in sunny South Africa, we hope you had a fab weekend nontheless?

Anyway, I’m here to tell you about something I found over the weekend and that’s Chanel’s beautiful Spring 2012 Makeup collection that’s filled with gorgeous rosy, coral and peach colours.

Blush Horizon de Chanel / Glowing Blush Harmony

“In one elegant compact, five pink and peach tones mimic the luminous hues of sunset. This unique powder blush lends itself to multiple effects: blended together, the harmony is ideal for sculpting and accentuating the natural contours of the face. Using just the pink shades creates a fresh, youthful flush, while on their own, the peach tones produce a warm, sun-bronzed glow.”

Rouge Coco Baume / Hydrating Conditioning Lip Balm

This moisture-rich lip balm combines ultra-conditioning benefits with a sumptuous, high-gloss finish. ROUGE COCO BAUME Hydrating Conditioning Lip Balm boasts an advanced Hydratendre Complex, which hydrates and softens lips, for a healthier and fuller appearance. Its sheer, lustrous texture glides on smoothly, leaving lips beautifully aglow.”

  1. My personal experience of Chanel makeup is that its very over priced and their is such a hype over it and I’m really not sure why because their eyeshadows and blusher don’t “build” very well on the eyes/cheeks and don’t seem to blend in, they lose their colour when you start blending.
In my opinion I’d have to say its for an “older” generation of makeup, with products with building and blending properties like MAC, Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder, I couldn’t bring myself to use Chanel, the same quality you get in Revlon/ Maybelline which is a lot softer on ones pocket…
I own a few Chanel items which I rarely use in my kit, one is a bronzer from last years spring collection and i have a couple of eyeshadows/blush.
On a bit of an unrelated note, did you see the pictures with the pearl warts from the Chanel spring collection fashion show? Not sure how I felt about that one… pearls are pretty but not when they are stuck to your face and neck to look like warts.
    Anyway, that’s just my 2c 🙂

i luurrv my chanel make-up, personally waay beta than maybelline… i’m not a fan of mac AT ALL hey cos i feel like a clown at a kids party, ScarJo looks are so much easier to pull off wiht my peachy chanel’s…

  3. That blush looks gorgeous! They look so pretty but unfortunately the prices aren’t so pretty. Haha.

  4. Chanel is for the consumer. It isn’t a makeup artist cosmetic. This is for the housewife to make herself feel a little special. I wouldn’t use it in the professional makeup artist field. Pretty. But pricey. It’s a nice gift to give a friend or sister. Wife or gf. Xx

I just bought the pretty Blush Horizon de Chanel from the Spring 2012 collection today. On my way to the mall, I was hoping and praying that it will not look good on me so that I can save up some money but heck, I fell in love the moment the SA swep the blusher on my cheeks!! Be it using the pink upper half or peachy lower half or swirl all together, they all made my complexion Oh-So-Heavenly-Beautiful ! I literally attracted another 2 more customers who passed by the counter, came in and requested to try that blusher which I have on my cheek and ended up purchasing it! Chanel’s make-up products emphasize on lights. If you’re the type who adore glowy, semi-matte and sheer looking of make-up like I am, you’ll love Chanel. This is because Chanel’s make-up are mostly with light-reflecting particles and they are very very refined, hardly ever flakey (haven’t come across that after being 6 years of Chanel make up lover). My photos look air-brushed with it on (Vitalumiere-Aqua liquid foundation BO20, Spring 2012 Collection limited edition pressed powder in Jasmine, Blush Horizon de Chanel , Holiday Collection’s limited edition Ombre essentielle in Beige Lame, Stylo Yeux in Grenat, black mascara, Rouge Coco in Paradis and Levres Scintillantes in Bagatelle) 😉 Give it a try at the counter, take a few pictures and decide 🙂
