The past few weeks I’ve been testing and loving the DermaFix range. To begin with, I didn’t know this brand. I was introduced to them at a yearend function and they spoiled me with products to try. They are South African but have located sourced laboratories across the globe to produce amazing and affordable (compared to esteemed and widely known brands) skin care, DermaFix is the brain child of Spa Professionals CC who are a cosmeceutical research and development company.
At first glance the products don’t jump out at you, they are plain white with a dash of colour and easy to read labelling. Nothing fancy, not an eyesore. Just what you need to know. I like a clean pharmaceutical appearance in my skincare products, after all you are maintaining your skin health at the end of the day to make up for all the time we have abused our skin in the past, be it by not wearing enough sunscreen, not cleansing/exfoliating enough.
When questioning the brand about their products and what their go-to product to get absolutely hooked they gave me a DermaFix DermaPolish. To explain, it is an exfoliator, but not your run of the mill exfoliator which looks like a cleanser with some bumps to rub the dead skin cells off. DermaPolish is powder which is enzyme rich and upon being applied to the skin with an equal amount water it micro-exfoliates and cleanses the skin. The reason for it being in a powder form and not pre-mixed is simply to maintain the effectiveness and freshness. Upon water being added to the powder is activated along with the Hydroxy Acids which results in dead skin cells being softly exfoliated and the end result is smooth, velvet like skin.
The first time I used it, I followed the instructions to use the DermaPolish as a mask which the instructions are on the packaging, I think, this is how I’ve actually become to like the product so much, after my last facial my skin therapist gave me a bit of lip about not exfoliating enough and since having these products on my shelf in my bathroom I can really see the improvement. I am so impressed. I am now very happily using my DermaPolish every other day after cleansing and if for whatever reason I happen to miss it, I catch up by using it as a masque on a cleansed face.
