A very happy and blessed 2014 to everyone!

I started my year with taking control of “ME”,

From nails, to hair, skin and more.

So as i did my whole facial routine today I Realized how easy and inexpensive it is, as you don’t need to break the bank to take care of your skin, so here are a few DIY recipes thanks to Wiki.How i thought i’d share with you 🙂


All Skin types:

  • 1/8 Cup ground Almonds (Use the coffee grinder for grinding 😉 )
  • 2 Tbs milk / Cream
  • 1 Tsp Lemon juice

1. Combine all the Ingredients

2. Use to gently cleanse your skin

3. Rinse with warm Water

Dry Skin:

  • 1/4 cups Cucumber
  • 2 Tbs of plain yogurt
  • 2 Tbs of oatmeal (Cooked)

1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl

2. Use this to wash your face

3. Soak cotton pads in leftover solution for a quick refreshing wash

Revitalizing Cleanser (Oily Skin)

  • 1 Slice of peeled apple
  • 2 Tbs plain yogurt
  • 1 Tsp Olive oil
  • 1 Tsp Citrus juice (Lemon or orange)

1. Combine ingredients in food processor still very smooth

2. Refrigerate unused mixture for up to 3 days

3. Use to wash face

Facial Scrub (Not for everyday use)

Use above mentioned ingredients and add a tsp of sugar or salt to create a scrub suited for your skin,

If you already have a commercial face wash you can do the same to a small amount of your wash.

  • If you have dry skin, try to scrub 2 – 3 times a week
  • For Sensitive skin, rather use a finer textured salt / sugar and scrub once a week.

Skin Toner:

Normal Skin (Rose water Toner)

  • Half a Tbs of Alum
  • 50gm of Rose water
  • 100gm of Glycerin

1. Mix all the ingredients well

2. Ready to use

3. Store in Refrigerator

Dry Skin (Mint Toner)

1. Boil two hands full of mint leaves in 100mg of water

 2. Take a cup of distilled water and add half a teaspoon of alum to it

3. Mix two drops of the boiled mixture to the cup of distilled water and Alum

4. Ready to use.

Oily Skin (Alcohol and Alum Tone)

1. Mix Tsp of Alcohol (Available at the chemist) to 100mg of distilled water

2. Add half a tsp of alum

3. Ready to use

4. Store in the fridge to preserve your toner

Always remember to…

  • Wash
  • Tone
  • Moisturize (Use a moisturizer with an SPF during the day)
