Smitten about my Mitten…

Okay Ladies,

Thanks to BeautyWorx for introducing me to this beauty, I am absolutely in love!

Sadly I am one of those lazy people when it comes to skin care after a long days work or a late night out,

I know how bad it is for your skin and i REALLY do try hard to stick to my skin care routine and most of the time i succeed but I do have days that are just poo. So if you are like me, don’t change your browser page as this little baby is absolutely perfect for you and every other person out there that loves their skin.

Introducing SMITTEN

Smitten01

BE SMITTEN WITH YOUR MITTEN

Do you like to smooth, “squeaky” clean feeling on your face after washing but find foaming cleansers leave your skin feeling dry & cleansing milks remain on your skin?

Maintaining our skins natural PH levels are vital and this is done by simply not striping the natural oils from the surface of our skins and eliminating additional oils that may clog the pores & cause irritation.

With just warm water, SMITTEN gives a mild daily skin exfoliation while preserving its natural & delicate PH balance!

Absolutely nothing but warm to hot water needed for a beautiful skin – Smittens even remove waterproof mascara! That’s why SMITTEN are perfect for all ages, all skin types and all budgets.

By eliminating costly cleansers, wipes and eye makeup removers that can irritate your skin – SMITTEN gently cleanses your skin preparing it for your plumping serums, hydrating moisturizers and active ingredients that can be absorbed more effectively after it’s micro exfoliation.

SMITTEN are made up from fabric woven with fibers that have super-fine density. These fibers are 1/100th the diameter of a human hair and 1/20th the diameter of a single strand of silk. These tiny fibers are able to penetrate the finest, microscopic particles of oil, dirt and even bacteria on any surface.

Unlike the rounded threads of ordinary cotton cloth, which just push dirt along the surface of the skin, SMITTEN numerous wedge-shaped fibers actually capture and pull particles of oil, dirt, and bacteria  into the internal structure of the cloth and away from your skin.

The result is superior cleansing that eliminates the very environment (oil, dirt, bacteria, and grime) in which skin conditions can erupt.

SMITTEN care is also very simple – they wash like a dream. Use any mild soap, hand soap is best. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry naturally.

When traveling with your SMITTEN use the PVC pouch & forget about the cumbersome, leaking cleansers and eye makeup removers!

Smitten

I won’t lie as always I am a bit skeptical with trying out new things and because you don’t need to use your smitten with soap or a cleansing lotion i did as always raise an eyebrow at first, So after getting mine i went straight home (Keep in mind this was after a days work so I did have a full face of make-up, from foundation, to blush, 7 x eye colors, mascara the works) and I put my new investment straight to test and yes by my surprise I was and still am absolutely amazed by this fantastic product, I have been struggling with a bit of a dry skin during the past few months due to winter and i have a pretty set out skin routine from cleansing to scrub (No not every night), mask, toning and moisturizing and sadly even-though i use a high end brand I cannot say I had the same results with my products as I have with my Smitten after just one use, as you will see in the Video below my skin has breakouts (which is due to the oil content in my skin) which i did not have before hand and my skin was Uber dry so much that my foundation would flake even with wearing a primer AND moisturizer.

I have used the Smitten everyday since the weekend and cannot see how i would ever use a cleansing product like i did i however still tone and Moisturize though, but the Smitten exfoliates and cleans for me and my skin’s natural oil balance is back in balance, My skin is feeling silky smooth and Looks great (apart from the few breakouts, but you know what they say… it gets worst before it gets better hehe)

Seriously ladies this is definitely something everyone should invest in, I can with a 100% honesty say this pink beauty works like a bomb.

Please see the attached link for my first ever “vlog”, i was just going to blog it but the photo’s just did not do the smitten justice.

MY WEDDING DAY – THE SERVICE PROVIDERS – part 1, THE DRESS

Good afternoon Dahlings.

So on the 5th of October 2013, I got married to my babsie. Ever since, I’ve been terribly busy, but I’ve always wanted to write up a post about the amazing service providers that made the day unforgettable. Post 1 will be about the dress.

To plan a wedding is easy if you know what you want and you’re not influenced by too many different opinions. Trust what you feel is right. I started with a mental list of exactly what I DIDN’T want.
For example: no poofy dress, no veil covering my face as I walked in, no updo hairstyle, no bridesmaids, no flower girls, no main table, no buffet, no garter throwing, no dj, no blingaling, no sparkly invites and so the list goes on. Now you look at that and you’re probably thinking that I had a terribly boring wedding. Haha. Boy are you mistaken.

Let’s start off with my dress. I knew I wanted a lace dress, mermaid shape. I knew I wanted a mantilla and that I wanted to look elegant. In my mind I had a vision. We then booked an appointment at PRONOVIAS in Sandton. Honestly, the most exquisite and beautiful wedding dress store ever. If you haven’t heard of PRONOVIAS, I suggest you have a look at their site. Dresses from designers like Elie Saab, Manuel Mota and Atelier. We were welcomed by the amazing staff and our consultant sat us down and showed us all the dresses on the computer. I then had to choose my favorites. And from those favorites, I had to choose 6 dresses which she would then get ready for me to try on.
I tried on the 6 dresses, but by the 2nd dress I knew I found the one. It’s name was SILABA, by Manuel Mota.

I also got my headpiece, shoes and mantilla from PRONOVIAS. I’m terribly thankful for their amazing service, because I was losing weight before the wedding and they altered it perfectly with no complaints. (I didn’t lose weight for the wedding, it was a health issue I was facing.)

They had to take down so much of the dress. Bear in mind that this dress arrived 7 months after the appointment I made in January. It gets made in Spain and then sent over. If you’re planning on going to PRONOVIAS, make sure you make your appointment 6 months before your wedding. Minimum!

Our dear consultant was Lindiwe. What a lovely lady. So cute, tiny, friendly but the biggest sweetheart ever.

This was on the actual wedding day. 🙂

My mother and best friend.
My mother, aunt and sister also got their dresses from PRONOVIAS. Of course my mom spoiled me with lots of cocktail dresses for my honeymoon. I’m so blessed.

What I also love about their store is that they have sales where you can get selected cocktail dresses for R1000,00. These were dresses that normally costed over R5000,00 and more. So make sure to just pop in for a cocktail dress, they may have a sale on the go.

Gaga for Versace

I had to take a double take when casting my eye upon the latest Spring/Summer 2014 images for Versace featuring Lady Gaga. I initially thought I was looking at a younger Donatella Versace and Lady Gaga, looks different than normal, although poor soul, she rarely looks normal. I actually quite like her appearance in the campaign, its refreshing, feminine, no weird or wacky pieces to look silly; and for a person who is not too fond (to say the least) of her or her general style, that is saying A LOT. Wearing minimal makeup and sporting Donatella’s sleek blonde tresses and wearing beautiful gowns she looks almost like a young Donatella has been cloned and is reliving the glory days of her youth. LADY GAGA FOR VERSACE (1)

Dontatella and Lady Gaga seem to be good friends…

“I am honoured that my friend Lady Gaga is the face of our new Versace campaign. I wanted to capture her true beauty and spirit in images that are elegant and alluring. She is like family to me, the embodiment of the Versace DNA.”

Well, Gaga certainly seems to be Donatella’s doppelganger, not too sure about family, but who knows the plot may thicken!

The images were lensed by Mert and Marcus at the location in London and so far only these two have been released.LADY GAGA FOR VERSACE (2)

A Pair of Platinum Shoes

Shoes can excite and shoes can scare people. I do hope that this particular pair of shoes come with a guarantee. That might seem a bit ridiculous and official when we are talking about an item which you put onto you foot and walk around with it. However, hear me out, a pair of shoes that costs $107,700 (approximately R1,077,000) should most definitely come with a gurantee.BORGEZIE PLATINUM SHOES

There is not anything wrong with my keyboard or perception, a 7 digit number for any asset is not to be bought on a whim no matter how much money you have. What particular pair of shoes cost this small fortune? A pair of Borgezie Platinum Shoes.

“Like the entire Borgezie range, nothing like this has been achieved or indeed possible before… Due to the extremely high temperatures required to work with platinum, it proved to be one of my greatest challenges… The Platinum stiletto took over four years of development… The end result is a creation of empowerment and liberation and something that suspends all women onto a perfect statuesque plinth.”

The piece is already created, I will be interested to see who will be strutting their statuesque frame in these… Christopher Shellis, the brand’s designer, had worked on the project of Borgezie Platinum Cleopatra for years. A single pair of the shoes requires around 100 years and very high temperatures.

To answer my question about a gurantee, the shoes come along with a 1,000 year guarantee which makes me feel, ever so slightly better about the price – did I mention that it’s made of platinum? A solid piece of platinum! How many guys, do you think will let you walk on the ground of mortals in these “glass shoes”? So the only choice he will be left with is to carry you around, gently and deep with love.

Dare I mention, the fact that so much time and effort that has gone into producing this pair of footwear that there are people starving all around the world? It seems to me that it is a statement item, a work of art if you will, but I would only really approve if they decided to donate some of the proceeds towards a charitable organisation, because we are talking big money and lots of time and big money and lots of time can actually save lives rather than adorn the feet of some lady in vain. Anyway, I simply believe this appears to have been overlooked.

I do on the other hand love them for the art that they indeed are, however even if I quit shopping for the rest of my life and saved I still would not be able to afford them and to be honest, even if I could afford them, I’d rather buy a house something.

Gold Digging with Dior

DIOR SS14 (1)Christian Dior have brought sparkly makeup back once again, for Spring 2014 they have left the rhinestones at home and gone all out on the town with gold guilding.DIOR SS14 (2)

Everything from eyebrows, top and bottom of the lids broken up with a dash of pastel eyeliner.  DIOR SS14 (3)

It’s bold. DIOR SS14 (4)

I wouldn’t recommend recreating these for every day wear, but you have to admit it is pretty captivating. DIOR SS14 (5)
