Jennifer Lawrence at the Golden Globes 2013

Hiya Poutlings!

Jennifer Lawrence is one of my new favourite style stars to watch.

Though Jennifer Lawrence’s Dior 2012 Haute Couture strapless corseted gown had me on the fence on the live red carpet, and in any of the outdoor images, however it really wowed onstage later.

When she first arrived, I was sort of happy to see another red gown, so she could stick it to Zoey Deschanel (I am not her biggest fan). The Gaultier-esque bust did bother me initially. I felt like it was squinting at me in the sunlight.

I will say that the addition of Raf Simons signature note from that collection, the metallic belt, lifted the oddness of that weird red and defined the wonderfully awkward silhouette.

As you can see from the indoor pics, how that colour sings out of the sunlight. It’s perhaps the sheen to the fabric.

The new face of Miss Dior went for a glittering metallic box clutch…

..and minimal jewels with a cocktail ring and drop diamond earrings.

Complemented with hair and makeup as fresh as it was dramatic. Perfect for a young actress making her debut.

Brava, darling.

That dress certainly grows on you the longer you look at it!

P.S. Check out Jennifer Lawrence’s interview with Elle and see what a healthy body image she portrays.

I am very impressed that the brand has found a name, that means and describes exactly what the products that they deliver are. Forever New describes every piece of clothing the stores offer… Every piece you see has classical staying power, they are not fads in fashion that will fade the next time summer comes around. This is the kind of store you go to buy those items you know you need and can use year in and year out, coats, dresses, handbags, shirts, that literally will stay Forever New.

Their clothing is so fresh, stylish and a range that you can never go wrong with. They bring out the natural beauty with their clothing and surely makes you feel FOREVER NEW!

Their brand is all bout CLASS and ELEGANCE!

Dita Von Teese’s Preferred Corset Maker

Burlesque Queen, Dita Von Teese, also famous for being romantically involved with none other than Marilyn Manson revealed her preferred corset maker earlier this year, admitting she gets a lot of help when it comes to choices and designs of corsets. It’s a given that this sexxxxy dancer has style, has impeccible make up and puts on a lot of class on her performances and really owns her style which is why we should all lurve her. From her hair down to the pearls that she wears, Dita’s flawless look is carefully fashioned and just like any fashion icons, she has a good designer that supported her. The corset designer who is the genius behind her corsets is none other than Mr. Pearl. Corsets designed by Mr. Peal have been bought by some of the biggest names in the industry.

Despite the nature of Dita Von Teese’s work she says she puts in a lot of effort when it comes to choosing a corset which she will use in numerous different shows. She told the media that she is absolutely blown away by the designs of Mr. Pearl’s work also saying her favourite item of his are the Freya strapless bras.

The Reclusive Mr. Pearl

Mr. Pearl however is rather reclusive and hardly gets photographed at major events. He has created and designed beautiful lingerie and corsetry for the likes of Thierry Mugler.

Dita Von Teese & Mr Pearl

So, personally, I’m not a fan of men in corsets however Mr Pearl seems to have that Victorian era about him and his appearance, so I guess its different strokes for different folks. No one can deny his talent for designing high-end corsetry for those that want it.

Since Burlesque, the movie came out being involved in new models portfolio making as a photographer and even a makeup artist, I’m a little  bit over the whole Burlesque theme as a whole because since that movie made it out it has just been soooooo over done, in my opinion. Any “alternative” model I’ve worked with has at least one shoot in their portfolio with a “burlesque” theme. Maybe I’m just old and nasty, but thats just my opinion.

What do you think?
