Eastern Culture has always attracted attention because of its luxurious charm and irresistible appeal. Think velvet, and silk with rich embellishment and embroidery – sounds like something royal, something beautiful, doesn’t it?
These things and even more were borrowed from the Eastern civilizations. No wonder, if in a past life I happened to live in medieval Europe with its overwhelming poverty, I would crave a nice outfit to stand out. You would too. Can you imagine what it feels like to look just like everyone else in a boring floor length linen gown? Although it is different in our time, and you don’t have to travel a million miles over the ocean in a boat for a couple of weeks to get your paws on a fashionable piece, western designers still to this day look for inspiration in the oriental world. A good example of this recently has been Italian brand, Blumarine, who has proved it with its dark enchanting Fall 2013 campaign.
This campaign is an international wonder, our very own home grown South African model, along with a Swedish photographer and Italian designer came together to create the magical looks of a Blumarine woman.
Candice sporting dark brunette hair, matte red lips create an image of femme fatale which, is alluring! Her true beauty will always look stunning regardless of the hair colour. The Blumarine clothing is so edgy it makes it impossible to look away.
Camilla Akrans, the photography genius, did an amazing job and managed to picture the Blumarine brand in a beautiful, alluring, sophisticated and romantic!
Do you agree?
South African beauty, Candice Swanepoel stars in the debut Brian Atwood advertising campaign which features the supermodel wearing lingerie and reclining on a naked man because many people look at deeply boring images like this one and finds them interesting.
Anyway, although the above shot is your garden variety “sexy fashion” print ad, the TV spot is generating more controversy because it’s way more naked. The prints ads have been banned from hanging on the Madison Avenue building houses Brian Atwood’s new Midtown store but the designer’s skin heavy fashion film has got the boot from cuty taxi rear seat TVs for its risque content.
WARNING: As mentioned in the title of this post, this post contains NSFW content. In other words, NOT SAFE FOR WORK. This video is not safe for most work environments, do not watch it if you don’t want to get fired. Pout Perfection accepts no responsibily for loss of jobs due to the content on our site, especially when we give you stupid little warnings. That’s all.
If you cannot watch the video because you are at work, or at church or are just a bit of prude… Candice portrays a sexy executive of some kind who has many PC monitors in her office; she sits down at her sexy executive desk to watch those PC monitors, which broadcast a big-no-penetration-orgy (involving herself also). That risque content is actually just faux-masterbation and Candice smoking cigarettes. However if you can watch the video, all the breathy histronics are worth a laugh; especially when a naked Candice Swanepoel approaches the PC monitors and begins to kiss/eat them.
What are your thoughts on this? Should it be banned? But what are they really advertising? Good shoes = good sex? Good lord, I have a lot of good shoes but I don’t want an orgy. REALLY do not want an orgy. I just think someone at the advertising department needs a firm kick up the backside and maybe to go for sex-therapy lessons that sex doesn’t always sell, or does it? Who knows.

I present to you
Spring Collection 2012
inspired by Nobuyoshi Araki’s photo series, “Sensual Flower,”
its an explosion of edgy floral prints, see-through mesh panels and a lot of deep purple
but who is this lovely model?
Our South African born beauty has gone dark to embrace Prabal Garung spring campaign.
“You know, we were thinking that we don’t want her to look, how do you say it — expected? I want it to be a surprise. Where people are like, ‘Oh wow!’
The potential was already there in her, you know? And it was all about going dark.‘” Prabal explained.
Which was, indeed, my reaction when we first saw the campaign images. With dark hair and no evidence of a tan, really made me ask…
WHO’S THAT GIRL?
