Clarins Super Restorative Total Eye Concentrate

When Clarins say ‘super’ in the product’s name, then you know they are meaning serious business. Allow me to deliberate a little bit.

Clarins created this product to act on all visible signs of ageing around the eyes, from Dark circles to Crow’s feet to Puffiness and Deep wrinkles. I struggle with crow’s feet, discoloration, age spots in my eye area, dark circles and puffiness and thought I am probably the best guinea pig for this products.

This product is housed in a red, pump action bottle with 15ml of product. The consistency is a white, super light, gel like cream that glides on. They say you apply it twice daily around the eye area from temple to temple, so I envisioned me having a pair of spectacles on my face, and all the areas where the spectacles would cover my skin, would be the total eye area I would cover with this product daily (Take note, you apply it everywhere around the eye area, not just the bottom of the eyes, but the top as well).

This products contains the following ingredients:

  • Organic Harungana Leaf extract helps smooth wrinkles and crow’s feet.
  • Albizia extract brightens dark circles.
  • Guarana extract helps reduce puffiness.
  • Cassie Flower wax instantly smoothes.
  • Cupuaçu Butter nourishes.
  • Golden Pearls illuminate eye contours.
  • D-Panthenol enhances lashes.

Did it work? Yes, yes and yes. I started to see visible results in only 4 days. I am already at day 16, but haven’t had time to take a new picture of my eye area yet. Here is a picture comparing my before picture and my results at day 4.

Both are my right eye, I think the angle of the pictures were taken differently. The results are staggering and it is actually hard to document it properly in a picture.

The skin around my eye area is less resilient (for a lack of a better word). To explain that statement I would say that my skin under my eyes was not the delicate flower it was supposed to be, it felt more like a rough patch. Now with using this product my eye area is soft to the touch, velvety, less blotchy and definitely just looks better.

It literally feels to me like this product erases a thin layer of damaged skin each day, over time fading away all the imperfections. I am impressed and will definitely recommend this product to anyone experiencing the same issues than me.

You can find them at Clarins counters nationwide and they retail for R825 for 15ml.

Love,

Leandra

Red Square have gone Digital

Hiya Poutlings <33

RED SQUARE

Red Square – famously part of the Edgars group has finally launched an online store where you can get some of your favourite beauty and perfume brands online! They have also stated that they will offer a “free” sampling programme, simply put that when you order online you can choose three sample items to try, at no additional cost. It sounds very Rubybox-esque but it sounds good to me.

Red Square have also taken into account that we, beauty bloggers as a whole are quite loud and proud about our purchases and that we want to share our product experience and knowledge with people on the web, be it via social media, blogging or review sites, and have catered for this on their website providing the opportunity for the consumers to post comments, make recommendations or even give advice about the products on offer in order to strive for consumers to make more informed choices….

The goodies you buy from Red Square can also be gift wrapped with a personalised message on the card…. this sounds like it could be an absolute save for last minute birthday or anniversary presents for the men out there 😉 Look out for perfume-presents, ladies!

Orders over R350 have free delivery, any order under that amount would be subject to an additional R45 on your purchase price. Payments can be made via credit card, or any Edgars or Jet account. HELLO 6 MONTHS INTEREST FREE CREDIT.

I’m really loving the fact that they have finally launched in the correct direction, local South African online stores will most definitely soar over the next few years but I am suprised that they did not think to do this previously…. The website on a whole, is a bit boring for a company with such an established brand however it is still early days and they may actually liven it up a bit.

It however amazing that we can now shop these amazing brands online without having to pay for parking. The brands on offer include (the links are to our previous articles on the brand/person): Antonio Banderas, Avril Lavigne, Azzaro, Beautique, Britney Spears, Burberry, Bvlgari, Cacharel, Calvin Klein, Carolina Herrera, Chloe, Christina Aguilera, CK One Color, Clarins, Davidoff, Diesel, Dolce & Gabana, Dunhill, Elie Saab, Elizabeth Arden, Elizabeth Taylor, Escada, Estee Lauder, Ferrari, Filorga, Giorgio Armani, Gosh, Gucci, Hugo Boss, I Love…, Imedeen, Issey Miyake, Jean Paul Gaultier, Jennifer Lopez, Jimmy Choo, Joop!, Justin Bieber, Kim Kardashian, L’Oreal Paris, Lacoste, Lancome, Lanvin, Madonna, Marc Jacobs, Montblanc, Nails Inc., Narciso Rodriguez, Nine West, Paco Rabanne, Placecol, Puma, Quorum, Ralph Lauren, Revlon, Rihanna, Roberto Cavalli, Shakira, Swarovski, Taylor Swift, Ted Lapidus, Thierry Mugler, Trind, Usher, Valentino, Van Cleef & Arpels, Versace, Viktor & Rolf and last but not least Yves Saint Laurent.

I’ll be sure to let you know about any of my purchase experiences from Red Square and how the service is versus the service in the actual shops! Last time I visited Johannesburg, I had superb service at the Sandton City store!

Are you going to check out Red Square online?

Be sure to let me know your experiences, if they are before mine!

P.S. Be sure to check whether or not your chosen brand is cruelty free or not as I do note that some of the above mentioned companies are in fact still not cruelty free!!!

Makeup Review: Clarins

I had the up most pleasure yesterday of being let loose on a whole Clarins stand at the Stuttafords in Sandton City for an official press launch for E! Entertainment and Style Network South Africa, which 5 lucky ladies had won makeovers which included new hairstyles, colours and cuts by Tannaz Salon, to be dressed by the instore Stuttafords personal shopper, House of Janine and makeup done by artists using on the finest Clarins makeup products.

Being a freelance artist, I do not feel the need to only use one product in my makeup kit. I use everything like MAC, Inglot, Kryolan, Smashbox and Benefit to name a few, but I am always willing to learn and to use new products if they are worth my while and will benefit my makeup kit and my clients faces.

Having the oppurtunity to have a quick product training on the Clarins products was really great and informative for me, and the other freelance artist, Liezel that was doing makeup alongside me.

Clarins have a lot of different products, these are the ones I really loved. They are:

  • Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch which retails for R340

This little pot of magic, is that – MAGIC! You use it, like you would a primer for under your makeup or you can wear it alone. You would apply this to problem areas on your face over fine wrinkles or large exposed pores which minimizes the appearance of problems on your skin.

Once you apply foundation over the instant smooth, you really are like WHAT problems? The foundation also sits perfectly on top of the instant smooth, instead of soaking into your skin which can sometimes make the foundation appear “cake-y”.

  • Instant Light Brush on Perfector which retails for R310

This hydrating perfector helps get rid of shadowy areas, like dark circles around the eyes but still promotes radiance in the skin.

This can be used around the eyes, sides of the nose, expression lines, middle of the forehead or anywhere where expression lines appear.

  • Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector retails for R160

This can be worn alone or with lip colour underneath. It gives lips a slight shine while repairing them and makes them have a softer, smoother texture. Worth every cent. I suggest you go buy it ASAP for real kiss-me-lips!

What is your favourite Clarins product?

x
