INOAR Absolut Daymoist CLR Shampoo & Conditioner

For a long time I have been hearing (and well, reading)  about this Brazilian haircare brand that everyone has fallen in love with. When I was given the opportunity to give their products a try ,it had me excited. Number one, I don’t frequent haircare salons that often and yes, like most ladies, I love to have beautiful and perfect hair.

Only problem is, my hair has been a little out of sorts lately and in desperate need of a moisture boost. And these two gems could not have come at a better time.

20150606_155422INOAR claims that these products will intensely condition and recover you hair, while leaving it with added glow and elasticity.

They are packaged in 250ml yellow bottles with a twist cap (which makes life easier by the way, especially when you are in the shower) and the fragrance of both the shampoo and conditioner makes me think of having my hair washed in a salon.

The products itself contains Cornstarch, Beet Extract and Daymoist CLTRM. I do not really have an idea what all of those ingredients each do seperately, but combined they basically maintain the hair strand to increase bounce and elasticity, preserve colour and shine, protects from discoloration and basically prepares your hair for heat styling.

Did it work for me? Yes it did. After the second wash it was as if my hair had received an instant moisture boost, it was noticeably smoother, and my hair was extremely shiny. One would think that because it is a moisturising combo, that my hair would be ‘heavy’, but it did not weigh my hair down at all or leave it greasy whatsoever. My hair was also manageable and easy to style. Not only did this product recover my damaged hair, but it also protects my hair from heat styling after each use.

Will I repurchase it again? Yes, definitely.

There are three products in this range, Shampoo (R220), Conditioner (R220) and the Mask (350). I have only tried the Shampoo and Conditioner, but are dying to get my hands on the mask.

Love,

Leandra

Clean Shiny Hair, Moroccan Style

Every time I end up doing a hair related post I normally always get stuck on the fact that I naturally have a very oily scalp. That means a lot of the products work well but they are not made for me. I initially thought this before I started using the Moroccanoil Extra Volume Shampoo and Moroccanoil Extra Volume conditioner as I was not expecting it to work for me as an everyday shampoo and conditioner. What i thought is that this could be part of a weekly hair treat, you know one on a Sunday afternoon or when i don’t have to face the world afterwards because my scalp reacts and makes my entire hair look horrible. Well, I was wrong. So very wrong. This has become my everyday (sometimes every second day) hair washing ritual.

I am officially hooked on this product… but before I go into details, lets talk about the product itself….

The packaging is very Moroccanoil style generic, it doesn’t look like much 2 250ml bottles, one white – the conditioner and the other blue – the shampoo. It is specifically for fine hair and those that are looking for some extra volume. It is sulphate free and not tested on animals. It is packed with rich nutrients and argan oil to enrich the hair and make it more healthy, shiny and make it have more body.Moroccanoil

It ticks all of the above and more…  both of the products have a masculine woody scent with a slight accent of a floral note, nothing too empowering though as this Shampoo and Conditioner are designed to be unisex. They do however leave your hair with a very sexy scent that lingers when your hair is flicked.

The Extra Volume Shampoo it is a creamy gel which lathers up quickly and rinsing out easily. It leaves my problematic scalp feeling moisturised but not overly stimulated with no irritation.

The Extra Volume Conditioner is a smooth, lightweight and creamy formula. I visibly noticed that with ease it lifted the sign of any tangles (thank you Cape Town wind!).

Overall, when my hair has been washed with the Moroccanoil Extra Volume Shampoo and Extra Volume Conditioner I have noticed a visible difference in the condition of my scalp. This I believe is down to the rich argan oil which is present in the products. My hair can last up to two days with no washing (huge achievement for me) and retaining its shine while being naturally lifted from the root. A little certainly goes a long way, to my shampoo bottle I have used only half of my conditioner. So I will need to restock on my shampoo before I have finished my conditioner.

I am going to be stocking up this weekend from my nearest hair salon… You can get your paws on the Moroccanoil Extra Volume Shampoo for R290 and the Moroccanoil Extra Volume Conditioner for R310!

Hair With a Shine

Schwarzkopf, a name unanimous with affordable effective hair solutions.

A while ago, I received the new Schwarzkopf Gliss Million Gloss Shampoo and Conditioner both of which have the most gorgeous brilliant turquoise packaging but it is what is on the inside that counts after all, right? Well, the inside is a hair care formula revolution in gloss and shine which has been designed to leave hair with a flawless gloss that can last up to 10 days after use. The hair is ‘coated’ or ‘laminated’ in a weightless gloss which makes the hair shine bright and reflect light for an added sparkle. The way that it makes the hair shine so bright is that the entire hair is ‘laminated’ in shine that is better than other hair shine products which only partly cover hair leaving a rough surface area that only results in a partial shine. The secret ingredient which assists in the ultimate hair shine is the Gloss Elixir found in in the Shampoo, Conditioner and Hair Treatment mask.

Gliss Million Gloss Shampoo

Gliss Million Gloss Shampoo 250ml – R52.95 400ml – R49.95

Before embarking and using my Gliss Million Gloss shampoo and conditioner, I didn’t think my hair was dull however there has been a noticeable improvement in the shine visiable in my locks. I believe this an affordable solution for beached out hair this summer from all the salt and sunshine which makes hair appear dull and rough. Adding the Gloss Million to your hair care routine will combat this and give you ultra smooth, extra shiny tresses which would rival any haircare advert.

Additionally to the shampoo and conditioner, in the Gliss Million Gloss range there is also a 10-Day Shine Treatment for smooth, high gloss hair for the ultimate long-term dull hair solution.

Carlton Hair Has a Solution for Bad Hair Days

Dry Bar, when I stumbled across the concept, I thought it was something to do with an empty bar that someone had gone to town with the contents of the liquor, fortunately that is not the solution that Carlton Hair has for your bad hair days, their solution is simply a “Dry Bar” in the sense of blow-dries for sleek and straight or bouncy hair guaranteed to turn heads. No cuts, no colour, no unnecessary styling just washes and blow dries. The highly successful concept of a Dry Bar which has been a huge success overseas and is gaining popularity locally is in full swing. The dry bar concept started at Carlton Hair in Vancouver all the way back in 2007 and have gradually gained popularity internationally and have started taking shape on our shores with various establishments (not only Carlton Hair) offering these fast paced blow dries which pack a punch. Carlton Hair

Carlton Hair South Africa are the latest to offer the Dry Bar as a solution to the lady on-the-go who needs quicker styling in order to perfect and polish her look for any occasion. The introduction of the Dry Bars within the Carlton Hair group resemble a “salon within a salon”, by gaining foot traffic and bookings from Carlton Hair’s already outstanding exposure and result-driven reputation. The Dry Bars are launching the larger Carlton Hair initially being Hyde Park and Melrose Arch in Gauteng and Canal Walk and Cavendish in Cape Town. Given time, the Dry Bars will be available at various other Carlton Hair Salons.

The boasting factor of the Carlton Hair Dry Bar is that they use It Factor products which is a one-of-a-kind product made to save time on drying and styling all while providing superior conditioning and detangling ingredients. The It Factor products are safe to use on all hair types and free of alcohols, sulphates, sodium chloride and parabens. Essentially, It Factor is the ONLY styling products your hair will ever need, especially when your hair is in the hands of a trained Blow Dry Specialist. Blow-Dry-Bar-Menu

The menu of treatments available at the Dry Bar is limited as though not to complicate the treatment time and they all cost R150. On offer, there is Straight & Sleek; Straight with Body; Beachy Hair; Bouncy Curves and Red Carpet Waves.  Loyalty packages are available for buying more than 6 blow dries and you get a certain number free in return.

I am so interested in finally getting to try out a Dry Bar… I need to decide which upcoming event I am going to for my turn to finally get my locks tamed!

Dear John, Thank You

Dear John Frieda,

You may think I forgot about you and how you spoiled me, I have not forgotten and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and all the wonderful people that work with you (especially Janlyn) for thinking so generously of me and other bloggers alike and completely spoiling us with your new range for our specific hair needs.

The reason it took me so long to use your products is that I’ve been going through some hair problems of my own from an extremely overactive sebaceous gland to major hair loss and I’ve been trying to remedy this problem (cause still unknown) without making it worse. After various attempts and a few weeks waiting I decided I really had to put my box full of goodies which have been sitting in my bathroom to good use. Oh boy, was it a refreshing experience.John Frieda

The Liquid Shine Brilliant Brunette Shampoo and Conditioner range have such a beautiful scent without being over powering. They are not the best Shampoo and Conditioner I have ever used for my hair but bearing in mind my hair is on a whirlwind adventure of its own at the moment, but they are certainly lovely products.

I have not tried to heat styling or the hair spray yet, but the Frizz Ease does help with unruly knots from the wonderful South East Wind that all the Cape Townians love to hate! Although Frizz is not a problem I encounter often, I did notice my hair was exceptionally smooth after using this product. I only use one spray and work it through with a big toothed comb.

Thank you John, once my head decides to sort itself out I promise to try the Luxurious Volume heat protector spray and Luxurious Volume hair spray.
