Lady Laws

In honour of Woman’s Day tomorrow…. There are certain things, I believe in life that us girls need to learn in order to be acknowledged as a full on lady, in a true sense of the word. I am calling these the Lady Laws and I believe we need to learn and master these things and you will be on your way to being the best women you can be….

ComplimentTaking a compliment.

“You look absolutely amazing”. Yes, you do. You spent hours doing your hair and makeup (sometimes even weeks when you’ve been training your butt off at the gym) to look exactly how you look right now. Someone has acknowledged it. Embrace the compliement, think of it as a gift of kindess. Do not and I reapeat DO NOT throw a compliment away when one is given to you. Yes, you might be taken aback and flattered but a simple “thank you” with a smile is a great response. Do not point out another weakness in response to this as it ends up looking like you want your own pity party, and only girls have pity parties – not ladies. Be gracious about it though in the same regard and don’t get a big head about it.

Self DefenseHow to defend yourself.

We live in a scary world. Not just a scary country. There is a high chance that 1 in 4 women has a chance of experiencing a violent crime in her lifetime. Studies have shown that it is virtually always better to fight back in situations as women who have done in studies have always eneded up being less injured than those who didn’t. I’m not suggesting a black belt in karate but a good knowledge of how to defend yourself against a potentially nasty situation will only empower you in life.

Breast Cancer CheckLearning to check your body.

One in nine women will get breast cancer at some point in their lives and early diagnosis is vital for a good recovery. This means, it is ideal to check your own boobies once a month. They are your breasts and no one elses. Its really simple and can be done when you are in the bath or shower. You need to be aware of what is normal for you in look and feel, what changes to loook for and report any changes to your doctor without delay and ensure to go for a mamogram once year once you reach the age of 35 or earlier if you have concerns.

Walking AwayWalking Away From Bad Friendships and/or Relationships

There are so many people in the world that can be toxic for you, both platonically and romantically. If you ever feel as though you are trapped, undermined, anxious, in danger or unhappy around certain people, learn the art of letting them go from your life in order for you to be free. Surrounding yourself with a support group of compassionate loving family and friends will help you see yourself for exactly what you’re worth in life. Do not compromise that for anyone. THE 8TH ANNUAL PREGNANT BIKINI PAGEANT

Hiya Poutlings

The wonderful Miss Sandylashxx, has previously mentioned the Miss Pregnant pagent that is held… Well, my blog is about something of a similar nature…. pregancy and pageants….

In Houston Texas, this past Thursday 40 expecting mothers all in their third trimester strutted their stuff in the 8th ANNUAL PREGNANT BIKINI PAGENT.

The women in this competition are not only competing who looks the best, pregnant, in a bikini, but their are events throughout the day designed to to “test” their mommy skills too, like the nappy toss and baby change.

Here are some of the contestants!

IMPORTANT:
Now PLEASE bear in mind my opinion is based on my experience of being around pregnant women. I have never been pregnant, so this is possibly incorrect, but I have all the necessities if I wished to be so… I also never wish to be pregnant or have children of my own, so let’s just put that out there before I give you my thoughts.

I believe that I understand why these women think its a great idea  to enter such a contest, simply because generally speaking due to the change that happens to a womens body during in pregnancy CAN result in the women feeling insecure and  unattractive, especially around friends who are still skinny with their social lives and sex lives intact. So, I’m sure it’s a fun experience to be around a bunch of other girls going through the same thing.

However, bikini contents can be trashy to begin with (yes, NOT all are, but most of them are…) I have no problem with pregnant women in general, or even a pregnant mommy-to-be in a bikini on the beach… but to parade around and seek attention just before giving birth really gives me the impression that once your new baby starts to get attention you used to get (by parading around in bikinis/generally from your looks) you will start to get jealous of the attention the baby receives, instead of yourself and well, I don’t think later on in life or when you are supposed to be “bonding” with the new infant that its going to bode well emotionally with that child.

To be frank, I’m happy these women have the confidence to do this, I simply wouldn’t ever have the confidence to this normally, never mind if I happened to be pregnant. It doesn’t however mean I anyway condone this type of behaviour, my honest first reaction to seeing these pictures were: WTF A BUNCH BREEDERS, WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU DO THIS, and WHO THE HELL IS THE FATHER OF THAT CHILD? I suppose this type of behaviour feeds the strange and weird pregnancy fetishes?

Jennifer Clay, 32 Weeks Pregnant and the Winner…

Anyway, at the end of the pageant, Jennifer Clay, who is 32 weeks pregnany was crowned the winner based on her grace, presentation, and what the judges called “it” factor. In six weeks she’ll be getting a crown of completely different kind… So um, well done to her for being beautiful, having good mothering skills (?), having the “it” factor, getting knocked up and well, winning this daft contest, I guess….

Would love to hear your thoughts… Am I the only one that thinks this is completely BIZARRE?

Shoe Porn : Shoes fit for a Princess

Hey Pouters!

Do you have a dream to one day own a pair of Louboutin’s and live happily ever after? Well you better get counting all those coins in your piggy banks!!

Christian Louboutin has unveiled his new interpretation of Cinderella’s glass slipper in celebration of Disney’s re-release of the famous story on DVD and Blu-ray in Autumn in the states (our spring). News of this collaboration was first announced in April.

Cinderella is not only an iconic character when it comes to beauty, grace and fairytale love, but also shoes. Her character and her story dictacted the design to me, it was all there in the pages and words of this tale.”

The princess worthy design features heels covered in crystals, two delicate, shimmering butterfly embellishments and naturally, any Louboutin lover would know, his signature red soles.

The slipper is a magic wand of transformation, which cojures confidence, beauty and love. The dream is a major factor in my language of design. There are no limits in the world of fantasy and there is always a happily ever after.”

Aw, isn’t that so artsy-fartsy of him to say, he should of added “REMORTGATE YOUR HOMES IF YOU WANT TO WEAR THESE, MWAHAHAHA!” Haha, bad Fi, Now, I am not sure what I was expecting from Louboutin on this project, but I don’t think it was this – however, the shoes are wow! I’d hate to lose one, wouldn’t you?

It’s all in the mind

Hello Poutlings

Well, it’s a wind down to the weekend, so let’s take a coffee break, and have  a bit of chat.

In today’s soceity, we are all made to believe that super Boney skinny is the way to go. Yes it healthier (coffs) and there are lots and lots of benefits, but sometimes I wonder, who of those skinny Boney models, that we are bombarded with every day, are truly deeply happy?

Who said Big Beautiful Women can’t be happy too? Even though society tries to push them out, the BBW’s have a remarkable tendency to bounce back, and when they do, they come back 10 times harder and even more driven to prove people wrong.

Right, so where is this coming from? Well, a wee while ago, I had the pleasure of shooting a BBW. My goodness was I ever so impressed.

Meet Jorina. She is a 28yo Grade 1 teacher.

She is confident, beautiful, fashionable. She takes care of herself, she has manicured nails, beautiful skin and the most amazing hair. To be honest, she takes better care of herself thank most skinny Boney people I’ve seen. The best of all, as beautiful as she is on the outside, she has the same beautiful properties in her heart. She is friendly, laughs alot and her confidence shines through her smile.

So you know what ladies, be proud of who you are. Look after yourself and don’t let anyone ever tell you otherwise or put you down.

Here are a few International Plus Size models:

1. Kate Dillon

Kate Dillon used to be thin and had problems with anorexia. Once she beat anorexia she quickly gained a lot of weight going from a size 6 to a size 14. Her initial career was as a thin model with a signed contract for Elite NYC. This career didn’t do so well but after she gained weight and became a plus size she has been more successful and happier with herself. She has made it to the cover and been the spotlight of many editorial magazines such as Vogue magazine and MODE magazine

2. Maggie Brown

Maggie Brown’s big break as a Plus Size model came when she won Tyra Bank’s Thick and Sexy Top Model Contest that appeared on the Tyra Banks Show in 2006. Not only did she win the title but she also landed a contract with Wilhelmina Models and a photo shoot with bombshell Magazine. She has had many features with Bombshell magazine, Plus Model Magazine, Igigi Model of the Month and more.

So go on, have a pouty perfect day!
