Guest Contribution : Accessorize Your Eyes: Eyewear 101

If you wear eyeglasses, you know how important it is to get the right look for the image you want to project. From fun-loving to intellectual, eyewear styles can enhance your eyes, brows, and overall face to go with whatever fashion trend you are wearing. That is why it is often helpful to buy glasses online ( so many options!) so you have more than one pair of glasses on hand to go with a variety of looks that will match your mood on a given day.

However before you snag a pair of shades online, at least make sure you try them on virtually at the very least. If possible find the pairs you like online and find a retail store that carries them physically to make sure your purchase is what you expect.

If you are ready to have fun, pick out a pair of oval-shaped shades supported by a wire rim frame to go with your casual style. Your eyelashes can be lengthened in a fun-loving shade like blue or violet to go with a pair of eye shadows like cream and aqua that will make your eyes pop, no matter their color. Rosy cheeks and lips will finish your eye-catching look that is great for sports events, parties, and social gatherings of all kinds.

When dressing for a professional job, make sure your eyewear and makeup project the look that will get you noticed by the right people for the best reasons. A pair of square or rectangular glasses in dark or tortoiseshell frames will help to make you look wise and ready to tackle any projects that come your way. Pastel eye shadow with medium-length lashes that are textured with brown or black mascara will consolidate the impression that you are ready for work while maintaining your feminine distinctiveness. Natural foundation with a soft tint to the cheeks and lips add to the polished look you are coordinating for daytime appearances.

For events that invite your creative side to come out, you can afford to be a little more daring with your makeup and eyewear. Try a shade lighter or darker of foundation as long as it still looks natural. Brush your cheekbones with a unique shade of blush, such as gold or rust, to accent your progressive, fashionable outfit. Line your eyes with a coordinating pencil or liquid or dot liner in the spaces between your lashes. Add extension lashes for a noticeable difference and brush them with a unique shade of mascara, such as midnight blue or violet. For eyewear consider tinted lenses that are circular, rectangular, or square, perhaps oversized or undersized, with no frames, clear frames, or colored frames that match your cosmetics and go with your outfit.

Pull out the stops for your special celebration, whether it be a holiday, a birthday, or a special event like a wedding, cruise, or concert. Make it memorable by wearing a lightly tanned foundation accented by plum cheeks and lipstick. Apply gold eye shadow and consider wearing a faux nose jewel or brow jewel. Depending on the tone of the event, you can wear sequin dots in gold or a coordinating shade above your eyebrows, which should be plucked neatly and brushed with a soft brown shade. Add a rich brown eyeliner to enhance the gold shadow, and for your lash extensions apply gold-tinged dark mascara, or tip the ends with golden eye shadow. Eyewear can be slender rectangular lenses in clear or light-colored frames, perhaps with gold edging.

Eyewear can complete your look, no matter the occasion, to consolidate your cosmetic effect and make your eyes stand out. Since most of us play a variety of roles and attend numerous events of different kinds, it is a good idea to have more than one pair of eyeglasses that can complement a differing look. Eyeglasses definitely make or break a mood. If you want some tips on how to find good quality glasses and other things this time of year you can start by checking this article out.

Drop Dead Beautiful

So, there is one week to Halloween (or should I say the evening that will be widely celebrated as being Halloween with parties and trick-or-treating!) and to be frank that doesn’t mean too much to me, however I know a lot of people enjoy playing dress up. Dress up to look dead or half dead is not dressing up to me. I like pretty things. I like looking alive but you know, each to their own! Once cannot deny though, the amount of effort some people go to in creating some looks is completely wow.

Here are some makeup-spirations in honour of this weird and spooky holiday loved by so many!

GoldieStarling Harley Quinn Queen of Hearts Skull Tard Trick or Treat

Beautiful Zombie Black Lips Bloodshot Eyes Beauty Creepy Nails Day of the Dead (2) Day of the Dead Halloween Beauty halloween black swan Halloween Comic Halloween Mask Haute Egyptian Halloween Intricate Halloween Detail Queen of Hearts saw Spirit Sultry Spiderwebs The Hand Two Faced

Some of these looks take intricate hours (rather hire a professional if you want one that will!) to perfect however some of the ‘easier’ beauty looks can easily be achieved with products you have lying around, however you might need to buy a couple of different colours which you might not use on a regular basis! The best bet is to decide in advance how you want your face to look and plan it out, although you may be somewhat more like me constantly don’t know if you’re coming or going… First rule is not to spend a fortune on any makeup product that you may require which you probably won’t use again. Think of more affordable options.

Are you looking for a stand out lip that will deliver on adding a wow factor? How about trying out RALO cosmetics, it’s a steal, with some added bling!

The best part is, they can also be used for some more toned down looks to create extra sultry smoky eyes! Buy wise for events like this and reward yourself afterwards with quality products that do you justice and look after your skin.

There is only two rules.

#1. Get inspired, if you’re participating.

#2. If you’re going to do something, do it properly.

‘Mantyhose’… Yes that is a real thing!

Hi Pouters

Are you a fan of hosiery?

Do you like wearing tights or stockings?

I simply hate stockings from cold winters at school, horrible off-brown-kinda-looks-like-vomit-coloured tights. The thought of them to this day still fills me with anguish of those cold winter mornings and horrible brown school shoes. Ugh.

Moving on, enough about my school uniform trauma.

One simply cannot beat fishnet stockings for dress up parties though.

That aside, would you like your man to be wearing a pair of tights? Specifically made for men, so that would make it manly right?

According to upscale hosiery retailer Emilio Cavallini that purchases by men (and for men) now account for 2 to 3 percent of their annual sales. He noticed the trend about three years ago.

When we started our online shop we noticed that a lot of tights sized medium-large were being purchased by men … So I did a search on the Internet and discovered there is a cult following for mantyhose.

So he decided to cater to male customers by creating unisex tights that allow for greater breathability, which is important since men perspire much more than women do.” Yes, I had to share that with you. I read it and well, so you have to visualize that image along with me…. Sweaty balls! Who’s passing on breakfast?

So, who are these sweaty, mantyhose-wearing men, and how do they style their hosiery? Apparently the same way people wear long underwear or spandex — in other words, safely out of sight beneath their pants as an extra layer during the winter. Emilio has however said that there are a select few more daring gents, that are European *cough* Italians, but that goes without saying; that have been seen to be sporting their ‘mantyhose’ with shorts.

Which brings us all to the inevitable question about unisex tights: To put it delicately, wouldn’t there be a problematic fit discrepancy between men and women in the groin area? Don’t even deny, you thought about it too.  Emilio says no: If it’s fine for Italian guys, it’s fine for the world.” – sounds as though he’s blowing smoke up his own ass there to me…
