Naomi Watt’s Talks About Playing Diana on the Cover of Vogue Australian

Hiya Poutlings!

First and foremost, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO OUR DEAR READERS! This is our first blog post of 2013, and I would just like to extend my biggest gratitude to our readers, a blog is nothing without its readers, and you guys are all awesome. I wish you all every day a happy one filled with all the good stuff.

Naomi Watts has is gracing the covers of the February issue of Vogue Australia, and I think this is maybe one of her loveliest pictorials ever. Now, that being said, I can’t really recall any of Naomi’s magazine editorials ever making an impression on me either way. I actually don’t think she does a lot of magazine interviews and editorials…?

So, this is a special case, and it’s lovely. I like the floral background and I love the green Gucci gown on the cover. Beautiful.

Naomi appears on the cover for two projects – one, she’s promoting The Impossible, for which she will probably get a Best Actress Oscar Nomination, and God knows, she might even be a major contender for the award too. She’s also talking a lot about her Princess Diana film, which as this point is only called Diana.

That film doesn’t even have a UK or USA release date yet, so who knows when it will come out. Anyway, Naomi spent a big chunk of this Vogue interview talking about Diana.

And here are my favourite parts:

NAOMI ON PLAYING DIANA

“In the case of Diana, of course, there is a huge pressure to look right, to have good hair, to walk and speak like her. And I instantly thought “Oh no, I’m going to fail at that because the comparisons are going to be monumental”. I’m always interested in complicated women, in women who are full of contradictions: strength, vulnerability, success, loneliness and all those things. Diana exemplified that in major ways. She was a great mother, did a lot of things with AIDS charities and the landmines, and had an extraordinary life, but her life was filled with tragedy and, of course, ended in the most tragic way.”

NAOMI ON COMPARING HER CELEBRITY EXISTENCE TO DIANA’S

“Most of the time I go completely under the radar but I do understand a little the pressure and how awful it must have been for her. She was properly isolated because of the media attention and, as a result, paranoid. She didn’t know who to trust and that is horrible. Such a lonely idea… a horrible way to live.”

NAOMI ON THE IMPOSSIBLE

“It was definitely hard work but had it been on green screen, you wouldn’t have got the same feeling. I mean, we were in that pool, struggling to breathe. Of course, nothing to the extent to what the real people went through, but, nonetheless… I’m not even a strong swimmer. The pressure of The Impossible was huge because it is such a sensitive subject and needs to be told with a lot of truth.”

ON LIVING A NORMAL LIFE

“There is nothing that is going to stop me [living a normal life]. I won’t allow that. Sometimes we may be suddenly surrounded by 10 or 15 photographers on the school run and they just won’t get out of your face, but most of the time we’re fine and can get through it. I don’t want to be stuck in the house and send someone to fetch the children.”

ON KEEPING A WORK/LIFE BALANCE

“You know, I want be able to do normal things. You can also add to the problem if you do the secretive thing, putting up the umbrellas and all that. It creates more allure that way. I think it’s better to go out with messy hair. They might write that I look tired or old or something but they are going to pick on something regardless.”

ON TOUGH CRITISM

“I got knockback after knockback at auditions. Just before ‘Mulholland Dr.’ my agent told me I was so intense I was freaking people out. She told me I was a brilliant actor but the feedback was that I made people feel uncomfortable because I was so nervous and intense. I just sat there and blubbed. My mum was staying in LA at the time and I went to her and said: ‘I just can’t do this. I’m not cut out for it.’ She just said: ‘Don’t believe a word people say about you. Forget them.”

I’m certainly looking forward to watching Diana, aren’t you?

Product Review ~Diesel Loverdose

Hello pretty pouters!

While you are reading this, I’m on holiday, in the bush, with no reception whatsoever … total bliss!

So, today I’m going to tell you about the new

Diesel Loverdose fragrance

This product sells for R559 for 50ml

I received this sample in my December Rubybox and boy oh boy what a fantastic fragrance!

The composition of this fragrance is floral, yet spicy, star anise with mandarin, sambac jasmine and licorice on an oriental base of amber, vanilla and woody notes.

This fragrance allegedly possesses molecules that stimulate hypothalamus, the part of the brain responsible for attraction and lust. So there you go ladies, get one now to seduce your man with.

The beautiful bottle is a purple shaded heart that looks it has been pierced with an arrow.

Although I do love the fragrance and love the bottle shape, the fragrance does not last that long on your skin, after the first hour it fades into the sweet vanilla and you lose interest in it.  I would’ve loved it even more if the licorice lasted a lot longer.

So, if you love the more vanilla tones, like  Britney and Augilera this would be a great fragrance for you.

Have a pouty perfect day!

Tuesday Product Review ~ Decléor Hydra Floral Moisturising Mask

Hello pretty poutlings!

Hope you’re all having a fantastic day!

So, today we will be reviewing

Decléor Hydra Floral Moisturising Mask

This product sells for about R385 for 50ml

We received a trial size in our OCtober Rubybox, and one in our November Glambox.

This wonderful  mask give your skin a hydrating boost. It is suitable for all skin types, packed with comforting neroli oil (yay happiness) and leaves skin soothed, quenched and protected against environmental pollutants.

I did use this product only once. It is a great product from  a  great company as I said before I love the Neroli oil product, even though it is suitable for all skin types, it might be a little too rich for me as I got a few breakouts after using this product. My suggestion is that you visit your nearest beauty counter and get a trial size before you buy this product, especially if you have an oily T-zone.

Have a pouty perfect day!

Spring/Summer Florals

Yes it’s no surprise that yet again florals are making the rounds in every designer’s Spring/Summer collection. In the words of the iconic Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada: “Florals? For spring? Ground breaking.” But, as we all know, florals work. They look great and give that great summery feeling.

Team up a pretty floral dress with a pretty floppy hat and cork-heeled sandals or wedges or wear a floral top with a pair of skinny jeans and you’re sure to look gorgeous.

Small, petite types should opt for smaller floral prints and if you’re the voluptuous type you should go for bigger and more wild floral prints.

A Guide for the Fearless Female on…. Lingerie Shopping

Keeping the flame alive between your partner and yourself after your inital honeymoon phase of the realtionship wears off can be the making or break of your relationship. If you struggle to keep your relationship intimate after some time, then you might as well write it off and try again. Some woman are petrified of the thought of trying sexy, gorgeous lingerie on where some other absolutely love it and are not afraid to try. My post today is for those who are not sure on what they should buy, and to tell everyone to start having a beautiful sexy lingerie collection today – if you have not done so already, start making that collection grow. It will make you feel beautiful, it will drive your man crazy and it will add a little bit of an extra spark to your relationship.

Buying lingerie can be as complicated as deciding on the menu for dinner! Getting the right size that properly fits your body, accentuates your great features and hides areas you’re not too proud of can be very daunting to woman who are not 100% happy with what God has given them… No one is ever happy, right? Wrong. You’re partner will love it because you’re making extra effort to not only feel and look good for them but also for yourself.

Now, everyone will always have different tastes and style, and by no means never throw what you think looks good away. Keep yourself present when wearing your lingerie and don’t pretend to be someone else, unless if that is what you and your partner are going for.

Here is my basic guide for choosing what lingerie is best per body type, however match it up, be adventurous – TRY it on at the shops and see what it looks like. You never know, you may suprise yourself, and your partner!

Curvy

You have a fuller bosom and a round bottom, lucky aren’t you? You may not realise it but you have what every man instinctly wants by nature and what every other woman secretly envies. You look genetically fit and ooze sex appeal, whether you know it or not.

However, sometimes you want to make them look one size smaller and it can be a real tough job to get this right sometimes. Woman who have big boobs should opt for bras with demi cups that have an underwire which have broader straps for that little bit of extra support. Sounds boring, right? Not anymore, you can choose to have bright floral prints with lace borders. Corsetted bras or corsets with built in bras are great for under evening wear and can add an extra oooh la la for when that evening wear comes off.

Petite

You already know what a blessing padded bras are. What you may not realise is that you can experiment with any type of fabric, pattern or colour. Small busted women are the luckiest when it comes to bra shopping as they can choose anything, be it functional, every day wear to kinky which will drive your man wild.

For a little bit of extra cleavage, petite ladies can have a padded bra with a plunging neckline which give the tiniest bosoms cleavage. Triangle shaped cups will make smaller breasts look fuller too. But, small-chested women should stay away from conical bras as they will never flatter a petite frame. Those with small bottoms can experiment with different styles, fabrics and prints in underpants too. However, a bikini or hipster cut will look the best.

Lean

Lean woman are blessed by almightier powers. They can choose to have a normal bra with an underwire if they want to look their normal size, and choose a padded one to look fuller. Average sized woman have a lot to choose from satin and lace to kinky and fun bras in velvet. The same holds true for panties however boy shorts will always flatter and look best if you have long lean legs.

Just bear in mind:

– while shopping that you pick the right size

– shop for new lingerie if you put on or loose weight (straps that cut through skin and leave rashes is really not beautiful or feminine, neither is gaping bikini lines because its one or two sizes too small)

– buy it for you, but also do not buy it and think that its never going to be seen; feel fabulous in what you wear

Creating a collection for every occasion is a popular step to take for your enjoyment. The presentation of the lingerie that will help to bring out the characteristics you want can help you in deciding the perfect sets available to you. There are thousands of shops to look at, if your a bit shy of going to the shops search online to get a feel for what you would like to look at and try on in the shops – we each which will have different styles of what we like and dislike. Knowing your style and knowing what you want will help you in keeping the relationship alive with lingerie.
Go ahead, find your style and flaunt you body in the right pair. You will look great in anything you wear!
