Let Your Skin Live in Harmony with Alive {Competition Closed}

Our beautiful fashion fairy friends over at Lushberry – The Online Style Destination have spoilt me with a new experience in skincare, Alive Products.

Green Envy

Green EnvyFor the past week and a bit I’ve been lucky enough to experience the Alive Bio Organic Facial Mask – Green Envy. The product is as the name suggests, green. As normal, anything that is green is good for you be in vegetables, trees, grass and even skin care. Green is better! This mask is typically for people who have excess sebum build up which results in oily or acne prone skin. The key ingredient in the mask is French Green Clay, imported from the source in France, this is the base of all the Alive products and is renowned for having healing properties. In the form of a facial mask, this French Green Clay uses it absorptive property to draw out impurities, excess oil and toxins.

Immortal Beauty

Immortal BeautyIf you are more worried about combatting the signs of ageing, then the Immortal Beauty facial mask is more up your street, the key ingredient in this mask is French Red Clay which contains iron oxides to smoothe, soften, lighten and refine the grain of your skin resulting in a painless facelift in a tub. Essential oils are also used to regenerate skin cells.

For the best results the masks should be applied to the face with a mask brush and left for 15 minutes or until the clay has dried and then removed with warm water, followed by your every day/evening moisturiser. You can use the facial masks daily on problematic areas or use weekly as part of your at-home facials.

Immediately, after first use I noticed that my skin felt smoother, although you may experience a slight redness due to the mask stimulating blood flow beneath the surface of the skin to eliminate impurities, excess oil and toxins (I did not, which is surprising as my skin can red faster than a Ferrari can go from 0-100km per hour).

If you are interested in trying out the Alive products, find them here at Lushberry for R129,00 each.

Product Review – Sultans Gold Shampoo & Conditioner

Sultans Gold Shampoo & Conditioner

The Shampoo and Conditioner both have a very light smell, which is absolutely beautiful and lasts on your hair. They contain Moroccan Argan oil which is a bountiful source of Vitamin E and an antioxidant which has anti-aging and anti-wrinkle properties.SULTANS GOLD

The Argan oil which is the main ingredient in these products is absolutely lovely and moisturising and suitable improving hydration and feeding the hair and skin. The bottles are fairly small in size, but with only using a little bit of product for a big result my shampoo and conditioner lasted me over 2 months worth of washes (anyone who knows the length of my hair will be amazed!), with a little extra conditioner left over. Every wash renewed the moisture back into my hair.20130807_190939

Unlike more cream-like substances, the shampoo feels more like a gel in your hand until the water hits it and it effortlessly glides through your hair, once rinsed, your hair feels amazing and smells fresh. Since using the Shampoo and Conditioner my hair has been less dry at the tips (damn you winter and visiting Johannesburg’s dry winter) and feels incredibly healthy. Due to the excessive moisturising properties of the shampoo my forever oily scalp has insisted I wash my hair daily however I can imagine for people who suffer from dry hair and/or dry scalp this product must work like a dream! The tips of my hair feel renewed and my hair shines all day.

For use in oily hair I would suggest only using this product in the drier, winter months as it adds so much moisture into the hair and can very easily start to appear looking greasy. I would suggest anyone to try this product that suffers from dry hair or scalp/dandruff problems for its amazing moisturising properties. Amazing shampoo for R225 is a real steal.

Sultans Gold products are sulphate free, which is great for anyone that colours their hair or struggles from hair fall it also is suitable for anyone who has had a Brazilian blow-wave or similar treatments and doesn’t want to fork out the expensive salon priced products. Sultans Gold additionally is paraben free, which is suitable for everyone. Parabens are used not only in Shampoos and Conditioners but widely in a lot of cosmetics which prolong the shelf life of said cosmetics resulting in minimal bacterial growth which in theory is good, however in practice it is linked to increased levels in Estrogen which can result in premature puberty in teenagers and adding to hair and scalp problems by deteriorating the hair follicles by damaging the hair cuticle which makes the hair dull and brittle.

cruelty free

Lastly the products are vegetarian as they contain NO animal ingredients and are cruelty free. What is not to love about this shampoo and conditioner?
