Guest Contribution : Naturals Beauty Essential Collection Milk Cleanser

I love natural products and this was the first time that I used products from Naturals Beauty. I was sent a Milk cleanser  from their essentials collection.Naturals Beauty Essential Collection Milk Cleanser

Naturals Beauty is a Cape Town based family company that makes all natural products that are free from Petrochemicals, Parabens, Synthetic Fragrances and any harmful chemicals. The company was started when they realised the South African  market were seriously lacking natural beauty products that were free from nasties.

They aim to supply products that are affordable, have great quality and are totally natural.

It contains the following ingredients:

Polyphenols (Apple extract) – Has anti-ageing properties.

Omega Oils (Avocado oil) – Moisturise, Smooth, hydrate and refresh.

Sutherlandia and Cucumber – Keeps the skin healthy and radiant.

The milk cleanser has a creamy, thick consistency(it is not at all runny and watery like you would expect a milk cleanser to be, it is more like a lotion)  and smells wonderful. The scent is not too overpowering and you can smell it is naturally fragranced. It felt sheer and creamy when I applied it to my face. I gently massaged it into my skin and rinsed it. My skin was clean, refreshed, soft, smooth and any traces of my makeup was gone. I have been using it for two weeks now and it has not irritated my skin in any way, nor has it clogged my pores or left me with breakouts. This product actually calmed down my seriously over-stimulated skin in a very soft, yet effective way.

I love the fact that it is all natural and that it is so extremely gentle on my skin. I will definitely explore the Naturals beauty range more in future.

You can find these online at www.busweb.org and you pay only R80.00 for a 125ml bottle, which I think is great value considering there went so much time and love into this product. You can also follow Naturals Beauty on Twitter @Naturals_Beauty

PRODUCT REVIEW/ HOW I WORE IT

I finally gave into the hype at the beginning of the year and I bought my very own BB Cream! I have not really shut up about it since, and I feel as though I am a bit of BB cream product expert, one would think I am getting commission by the way I have been “selling” this product to people that ask me about it. My mother, aunt, cousin and best friend have all recently bought their own (not all the same brand) BB creams and they have also loved them. I have also been able to try them, so I will eventually review those for you too.

Sandylashxx wrote a post on WHAT IS BB CREAM… Check it out.

Because, I am a list person, I have broken down my Smashbox BB Cream experience to the following pros and cons:

yes

PROS

  • A natural finish
  • Fair selection of shades, actually pale enough for ghosts like me
  • Easy to blend
  • Portable
  • High SPF

noooot really

CONS

  • Price/ R390
  • No moisturising ingredients/ properties – NOT  moisturiser like other BB cream brands
  • Difficult to get all the product out the tube
  • Only 5 shades available – this is a huge drawback for potential customers but hopefully in time this is fixed….

This BB Cream is a good option for someone who has an even complexion, like myself, with barely any skin imperfections (I have a few, but I choose to ignore them). There is hardly any coverage to this BB cream. You would have to use a lot of product to get a sheer-medium coverage and using a lot of this expensive product in my opinion is a waste, however if you apply medium coverage foundation over it, you will acheive a sheer-medium coverage. The smoothing aspect of it, as it is a primer or pollyfiller as I like to explain to my clients that always ask what PRIMER is for, is definitely its best feature. The SPF for me, is also a huge deal. I am as pale as a ghost and needless to say, I am terrified of sun damage, automatically the higer the SPF for me, the better the product.

The application of the Smashbox BB Cream is MUCH easier if done with your fingers, it just blends easier. When attempting with a foundation brush, beauty blender, stipple brush or foundation sponge I feel that the product itself gets wasted (again, it’s not cheap and wasting is a deadly beauty sin especially at R390 a go…) and the cream doesn’t blend as easily as it does with the added heat of your fingers. I almost died when the Smashbox consultant used her fingers on my face, but I understand now that it just works better after trying many different applications myself.

I enjoy having the look of dewy skin,  because I suffer from an oily skin, I’m used to having loads of powder on my face and having a matte finish, this BB cream helps me have dewy skin for longer. You can happily add some powder initially (if you wish) or throughout the day as you normally would with a foundation.

My go-to makeup look for the last few weeks of summer of late has been as simple as cleanse, tone, moisturise, apply BB cream, dust a bit of bronzer on my face, Smashbox Jet Set Gel Liner to my upper eyelid, a bit of my Inglot brow gel and plenty of mascara for a fun, fresh, “no makeup” makeup look. Quick, effective, and it lasts for the whole day, even in the intense Southern hemisphere heat.

OVERALL RATING

8/10

WOULD I RECOMMEND IT?

Definitely! Try it TODAY!

Please bear in mind, this product may not be the same experience for you but chances are you will enjoy it all the same. Smashbox is available at selected Woolworths stores countrywide, so be sure to go and try it out and see for yourself.

Smashbox is also cruelty free so absolutely no fluffies are harmed in having your perfect flawless looking skin.

Product Review ~ Elizabeth Arden Intervene Radiance Boosting Moisture Cream SPF15

Hello poutlings!

So, it’s almost weekend and almost holidays for most of us. Where will you be travelling to?

Today we will discuss Elizabeth Arden Intervene Radiance Boosting Moisture Cream SPF15 which I also received in my November Rubybox

This product sells for R460 for 50ml

As you know by now I’ve recently fallen inlove with these Elizabeth Arden Intervene products.

As a great compliment to my EA 3-in-1 Cleanser, Exfoliator and primer, I couldn’t wait to start using this product, and it was all worth it.

Use the Moisture Cream in the mornings after a good cleanse.

My skin was radiant, clear and had a natural looking glow while using the product. The texture also improved and my skin felt hydrated the whole day.

It also helps to iron out those fine lines, and prevent new ones, but I don’t have lines and wrinkles yet.

I loved the sample size so much that I eventually went and bought myself a full size INTERVENE Radiance Boosting Moisture Lotion SPF 15, I just prefer lotion over cream. It has exactly the same benefits and I dare say my skin is in a better condition now than it has ever been.

So my recommendation on this product, YOU owe it to yourself!

Have a pouty perfect day!

Look Great Without Makeup This Summer

Good morning Poutlings and may you all have a fabulous Friday!

Do you long to feel the wind blowing on your naked face, I mean completely naked face? Sometimes, we all need a break from makeup yet some of us feel incredibly exposed without it however your skin will thank you for a good breather. Sandylashxx will completely disagree with my post, but MissMegsJane last post about ladies at the gym working on their fitness with lots of makeup made me think that there are many times when having a full face of makeup is not needed, such as  summer being right on our doorsteps, there is no point in lying by the pool or beach with a face full of makeup especially if you love the water and want to take a splash and enjoy your swimming!  With the long Christmas holidays on our doorstep, days relaxing at home are not always for a full face of makeup. Embrace it, be natural.

Plus, it saves time when you elect not to wear makeup. But there are some guidlines to follow to make sure that you look great without your makeup:

Practice Religious Skin Care

If you’re going to forgo makeup, you need to take the best possible care of your skin. Twice daily is preferable with a mild cleanser. Followed by a light spritz of toner all over your face, in the morning followed by a day time moisturiser and at night a night cream, do this in the morning before you wake up and before you go to sleep, your skin will thank you in the long run if you use this as your daily routine.

Exfoliate Your Skin at Least 3 Times a Week

This is one of the best kept secrets for beautiful skin – exfoliation. Use a gentle cream exfoliant on your skin and massage your face in circular motions for at least a minute before washing off. This will remove the dead skin cells and increase circulation to your face which will give your skin an amazing glow that is better than blush! Then follow by a spritz of toner and the relevant moisturiser.  For soft, glowing skin.

Getting Plenty of Beauty Sleep

If you are going to go natural, its important to get the adequate sleep needed for beautiful skin. Seven to eight hours of sleep should do your skin wonders! Tired skin looks sallow and can leave bags under the eyes or dark circles around the eyes. If you don’t get enough sleep but still want to go natural, try putting an ice pack on each eye for at least 5 minutes to reduce the “puffy eye” look.

Drink Lots of Water

Your skin looks amazing when you are well hydrated and you should make drinking at least 2 litres of water a day part of your normal beauty routine to maintain your skin hydration, keeping you looking fresh and healthy. Avoid drinking a lot of caffeine as it can act as a duiretic to further dehydrate your skin.

Keep Your Brows and Lashes in Tip Top Shape!

Make sure your brows are neatly groomed and that there are distracting stray hairs out of place and for the sake of my health, please do not dye them blonde… 😉

Make sure your eyelashes are kept clean of any residual makeup to avoid them breaking from mascara from the day before, use a gentle eye makeup remover on them if you couldn’t get it off the night before, and if you have straight lashes invest in an eyelash curler to open those peepers up!

Keep Your Lips Moisturised

Get addicted to your lip ice. Its a good addiction, not as expensive as contraband and more rewarding than suffering from dry, chapped lips. Applying moisture to them to keep them smooth and soft to the touch. Even a touch of clear lip gloss can give your face a natural glow, but be careful if your going to be lying in the sun, or doing any outdoor activity as gloss and hair like to stick together and it doesn’t look glamourous as all.

Any woman, can look good without makeup if she practices her skin care as a general lifestyle habit daily, looking after your skin can make your makeup look even better in the long run.

Let me know if you’ll doing the natural thing this summer? I’m sure I will be over Christmas… especially in our Mother City,  CAPE TOWN, if it happens to be anywhere near as hot as it was last year, makeup just melted off your face!
