Elegant Makeup Storage

When the time comes to looking at your makeup collection – if you’re like me you have a pretty impressive collection. Compromising of high end brands which make you proud to own but also happy to wear, the only problem is when you know you have that lip liner that matches your brand new plum lipstick; you can never find the damn thing amidst the hoards and hoards of other products because you are scrambling between 4 {mini}makeup bags and you just cant find the damn thing. Is all that makeup truly worthy of being slung into makeup bags and squished and mistreated. The answer is definitely not but I am guilty

I can really understand why the rise of the acrylic makeup displays have become so popular to overlook these issues which can be both frustrating, time consuming and end up with you scrambling to settling for a different colour, shade or product than what you initially dreamed up in your mind.

Sometimes the more simple a design, the more beautiful. Acrylic makeup displays simply look flawless, are easier to navigate than bags and I’m quite sure make all women woo and make “oooh” and “aaah” sounds when laying eyes upon them when they are filled with their favourite cosmetics and how gorgeous would these look as an addition to your dressing table? Tres chic.

The only drawbacks I can think of are that I would imagine that they would get dusty quickly and when you need to pack a makeup bag for travels – how would you go back to makeup bags when scooting around to not having the ease of getting your products out? I also have so much makeup I may need two – not just one. AAAH. I am possibly over thinking this; as you should just get one and get on with it but I am still not sure yet as I haven’t taken the plunge and got myself one, yet.

Local South African online store 27pinkx (pronounced 27 Pinks) has been promoting their sales for these beauties and they range from R350 per draw to the actual cube like storage boxes with draws from R1,200 to R1,800 including free delivery. To view their entire offering, check it out here.

Product Review – Sultans Gold Shampoo & Conditioner

Sultans Gold Shampoo & Conditioner

The Shampoo and Conditioner both have a very light smell, which is absolutely beautiful and lasts on your hair. They contain Moroccan Argan oil which is a bountiful source of Vitamin E and an antioxidant which has anti-aging and anti-wrinkle properties.SULTANS GOLD

The Argan oil which is the main ingredient in these products is absolutely lovely and moisturising and suitable improving hydration and feeding the hair and skin. The bottles are fairly small in size, but with only using a little bit of product for a big result my shampoo and conditioner lasted me over 2 months worth of washes (anyone who knows the length of my hair will be amazed!), with a little extra conditioner left over. Every wash renewed the moisture back into my hair.20130807_190939

Unlike more cream-like substances, the shampoo feels more like a gel in your hand until the water hits it and it effortlessly glides through your hair, once rinsed, your hair feels amazing and smells fresh. Since using the Shampoo and Conditioner my hair has been less dry at the tips (damn you winter and visiting Johannesburg’s dry winter) and feels incredibly healthy. Due to the excessive moisturising properties of the shampoo my forever oily scalp has insisted I wash my hair daily however I can imagine for people who suffer from dry hair and/or dry scalp this product must work like a dream! The tips of my hair feel renewed and my hair shines all day.

For use in oily hair I would suggest only using this product in the drier, winter months as it adds so much moisture into the hair and can very easily start to appear looking greasy. I would suggest anyone to try this product that suffers from dry hair or scalp/dandruff problems for its amazing moisturising properties. Amazing shampoo for R225 is a real steal.

Sultans Gold products are sulphate free, which is great for anyone that colours their hair or struggles from hair fall it also is suitable for anyone who has had a Brazilian blow-wave or similar treatments and doesn’t want to fork out the expensive salon priced products. Sultans Gold additionally is paraben free, which is suitable for everyone. Parabens are used not only in Shampoos and Conditioners but widely in a lot of cosmetics which prolong the shelf life of said cosmetics resulting in minimal bacterial growth which in theory is good, however in practice it is linked to increased levels in Estrogen which can result in premature puberty in teenagers and adding to hair and scalp problems by deteriorating the hair follicles by damaging the hair cuticle which makes the hair dull and brittle.

cruelty free

Lastly the products are vegetarian as they contain NO animal ingredients and are cruelty free. What is not to love about this shampoo and conditioner?

FALLING IN LOVE WITH : MISSTAKEN

Hiya Poutlings

With crazy schedules, we don’t always have enough time in order to do enough retail therapy in order to make your soul feel soothed. In times like these, this is when the internet prevails. Whether its window shopping you’re looking at or actual shopping, you can pretty much find what you’re looking for…

www.misstaken.co.za

The problem is that, a lot of the time shipping is expensive as a lot of the stores are based overseas, and I’m so happy that ever so slowly, our local online data base of stores is growing… the gem of a store I found recently is MISSTAKEN a new(ish) online boutique which totally swoon worthy. They offer party dresses, evening gowns and gorgeous lingerie.

Lingerie Letters – April 2013

Hi Poutlings!

20130417_174226If you didn’t see my Lingerie Letters product & service review from last month – clickety click! I just thought I’d share my April letter with you… and for everyone that giggled about my personal remark about sharing my knickers online, I’m doing it again….

20130417_174239

This month was a pair of French knickers, and Lingerie Letters had gone very tres chic with their love notes they send out along with the knickers!

20130417_174416I don’t think I own another pair of French knickers, which I believe are also called “tap pants” in the USA… They are more similar to a pair of boxer shorts, compared to traditionally fitted underwear. If you wear these during the day, be sure to pair them with very loose fitting pants or a flowing skirt as they can create quite a large visible panty line with the likes of wearing skinny jeans for example.  I think might become a new part of my nightwear, haven’t decided yet though.

20130417_174303

This month Lingerie Letters also sent along with the knickers “Comfitex Feminie Wipes“, which I assume are of a similar nature to the other products of the same genre on the market, but I have never read or can find any information on the company to be more informed, maybe Lingerie Letters would have more info on this?

Don’t forget to check out their website LingerieLetters.co.za and sign up for the one month option, for R95, if you are not sure about how this thing works, it’s fun, cute, a bit cheeky and a very unique idea! They are also quite interactive on their Facebook Page and I’m sure will respond to any queries you may have, alternatively, check them out on Twitter – @LingerieLetters

c’est moi
