Let me first set the record straight. I am a huge fan of MAC’s Rubywoo lipstick. It’s pretty much the perfect red lipstick. But I can’t compare these two lip “enhancers”. MAC is a lipstick and it’s matte, whereas this is a gloss.
What do I have to say about this Kryolan High Gloss lip gloss?
Well I absolutely LOVE it. It’s surprisingly long-lasting, which normally is unusual for a lip gloss.
It livens up your whole look.
It’s NOT sticky at all, and it doesn’t taste too bad either 😉
I think my favorite part about it, is that its super moisturizing. Even more so than lip balms. PLUS, it doesn’t bleed.
I definitely recommend buying any of the Kryolan High Gloss glosses. And I’ve used many brands of glosses, and so far nothing beats this one.
Here is a makeup look I did using Kryolan products and of course Catwalk High Gloss.
With this makeup application I used Kryolan foundation, contouring foundation and Kryolan setting powder.
This specific color is called Catwalk..
All Kryolan products are available for purchase at my favorite salon EDL Hair & Beauty on Lynnwood.

A couple of weeks ago I told you about the launch of the MUD Showroom in Claremont, Cape Town and I purchased some gorgeous new additions for my face. Well, following this I just had to play and I added a little bit of a razzle dazzle with some of MUD lipstick in Burlesque on my lips.
This lipstick is absolutely to die for! It is a matte deep red cherry colour which is highly pigmented. Due to the fact that the lipstick is matte, is has a long staying power and regular touch ups are not necessary.
Even while eating and drinking the colour stays prominent on the lips without fading or wiping off easily. Obviously there are a few lip stick stains on a glass or if you have just applied your lippie then you might smudge it if you go and kiss your beau, but that being said once a couple of hours rolls round you sort of feel that you should maybe check your lips only to be surprised and find out that they are still the same colour as when you left the house which is a total bonus.
I would rate the MUD lipstick range with a better staying power than MAC lipstick, the lipsticks are not as creamy in texture in comparison but they are still moisturising and incredibly effective to rock a bold or natural lip for any occasion.
The lipsticks retail for R210 and are available from MUD South Africa distributors and stockists nationwide, for the nearest to you have a look on their website here.
Although a lot of people are starting to wind down now for the end of the year which is only a couple of weeks away, unfortunately when life tells you that you have to work, you work it, baby! Working in an office and getting ready in the morning can be a little tricky. You don’t want to look like you’re all dolled up and ready hit the town but you also do want to look like you’ve made an effort, shall we say their is such a thing as office chic? Most definitely! If you’re a bit a stuck at how to do your face in the morning the beauty editorial in Unica for October 2013 featured Alexandra from MRA Models with several easily adaptable looks which scream Office Chic, exactly as the editor, Georgiana Constantin aptly named the set. Images were photographed by Alex Ranta and the makeup was by Silviana Buturuga, hair by Petre Tache and nails by Lacramiora Enache.

Eastern Culture has always attracted attention because of its luxurious charm and irresistible appeal. Think velvet, and silk with rich embellishment and embroidery – sounds like something royal, something beautiful, doesn’t it?
These things and even more were borrowed from the Eastern civilizations. No wonder, if in a past life I happened to live in medieval Europe with its overwhelming poverty, I would crave a nice outfit to stand out. You would too. Can you imagine what it feels like to look just like everyone else in a boring floor length linen gown? Although it is different in our time, and you don’t have to travel a million miles over the ocean in a boat for a couple of weeks to get your paws on a fashionable piece, western designers still to this day look for inspiration in the oriental world. A good example of this recently has been Italian brand, Blumarine, who has proved it with its dark enchanting Fall 2013 campaign.
This campaign is an international wonder, our very own home grown South African model, along with a Swedish photographer and Italian designer came together to create the magical looks of a Blumarine woman.
Candice sporting dark brunette hair, matte red lips create an image of femme fatale which, is alluring! Her true beauty will always look stunning regardless of the hair colour. The Blumarine clothing is so edgy it makes it impossible to look away.
Camilla Akrans, the photography genius, did an amazing job and managed to picture the Blumarine brand in a beautiful, alluring, sophisticated and romantic!
Do you agree?
