GOING SOMEWHERE? GO BEAUTY… FIRST!

Last week I had the absolute privilege to attend the Cape Town Launch of GO BEAUTY!

GO BEAUTYGO BEAUTY is a quick convenient way of booking all your beauty appointments online via your smart phone.

What do you need to do this?

  1. A smart phone
  2. WeChat Installed
  3. Follow GoBeauty’s official account

Once you have the above the rest of it is easy as pie!

  1. Push the “Beauty Map” button
  2. Select your region
  3. View all the salons and spas around you
  4. If the salon software is incorporated with GoBeauty you can book directly with them specifying what treatment, what therapist and what time you will make your appointment. If the salon software is not incorporated with GoBeauty you can simply submit a requested treatment and appointment time and they will phone you to confirm. It’s that simple!
  5. Et voila, GO GET BEAUTIFUL with GOBEAUTY.

Why is this so great? Last minute appointments are a real thing. Booking appointments can be challenging specifically when sitting in an open plan office. You are busy at work and the whole office doesn’t know you are popping out to get a wax or a pedicure. This day and age for the technological independent women our lives are fast paced and happen in real time. Not scheduling appointments in advance if you don’t know what city you are going to be in. Travelling can make it difficult to be prepped and primed for important meetings and with GoBeauty you can see who is available and when and at what cost.

What can you still expect? A lot of salons are not yet singed up with Go Beauty but be sure to ask your favourite salon to get in with the “cool” salons or they will miss out on the opportunity and we will miss out on the super easy booking!GO BEAUTY GO BEAUTY QR

Honestly, I am so excited about it. I plan on using it for the first time tomorrow as a salon near where I work has the back end software linked up with GoBeauty and that means that its pedicure time for me but with GO BEAUTY my secret is safe and no one needs to know when its time for  Hollywood or a massage.

At the launch, we were being explained how to use the app… thought this pic explains it down to a T!

Let the Smart Bed Sort Out Your Sleeping Woes

It seems that the world has been dumb for too long and now the smart era is upon us, with smart phones, smart appliances comes the rise of the new smart bed. The product was launced at Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and showcased a double mattress bed that does everything that tracks your sleeping habits by breathing, heart rate, whether you are lying still or tossing and turning over the course of the sleep and even makes your sleeping partner stop snoring. No elbows and/or shaking required!X12 Smart Bed

This clever bed is called x12, and is apparently $8,000 approximately R80,000 but they wanted to make sure that apart from all the smart things it does, it gives you even more value for your R80,000 because it listens to your voice and you can command it to initiate under bed lighting, built in massage and its anti-snore feature (which raises the angle at which the snorer is sleeping to temporarily relieve the snoring.

I am amazed and also perplexed, is this really what all our lives are going to come to – what’s next? I can’t help but wonder if this won’t be like constantly living in a hospital being hooked up to machines that monitor your heart, breath, etc. I did enough of that as a kid, so I am not too bothered, although the benefits for people who are ill will probably be increased tenfold. The insominacs probably wouldn’t benefit from something like this though.

Check this out!
