Whenever I come across these, they make me laugh because not only are these characters our pop culture idols of the past – what they say rings true to exactly how I imagine they would #hashtag and share things with their followers, being us. Plus, they are 99% better than most of the celebrities out there!

Since it’s the month of LUUURVE… I thought I’d kickstart it with a wacky but fabulous wedding blog post. When Jamie Blanke married her new husband Eric Chandler, they did it in style – Disney style.
The bride who was reportedly raised by two Disney fanatics, really wanted to be Princess Ariel and she didn’t just stop at dying her hair red, a fish-netting veil and mermaid-style dress (all of whish she had)… Jamie also enlisted all of her bridesmaids and groomsmen to dress ad Disney characters, too!! I can’t help but feel sorry for these bridesmaids because they are stuck with the pinncale of an unwearble bridesmaids dress – a Disney princess bridesmaid dress. I guess you could always wear wear one to a fancy dress party.
However, what the bride needs kudos for is the fact that she executed it perfectly and everyone at that wedding party must love her so much to have followed her vision… she will always have the best wedding photos and memories ever.
This Christmas, which is is less than 2 months away (you’re welcome), seems to already have a Disney theme. After a very controversial *clickety click* Barney’s New York has taken an Electric Holiday with high fashion versions of Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck, Harrod’s is ALSO glamourising the Disney Princesses to be featured in their holiday windows.
Roberto Cavalli, Marchesa and Oscar De La Renta are just three of the participating 10 designers in the Disney Designer Princesses for Harrod’s. Three designers have re-imagined some of the most iconic characters in pop culture and they’ve got a makeover which I think is magical.
The display coincides with a huge pop up shop inside the department store to be unveiled on the 1st of November, the windows will truly be a litter girl’s grown up dream come true.
You decide : what real life princess attire are you wishing to wear??
Hey gorgeous poutlings,
Hope all of our ladies had a fantabulous Womens Day yesterday!
I spent my day in bed with hot chocolate watching my new favourite series “Once Upon a Time”.
What is that you ask?
Well I didn’t know about it at first – not being much of a TV fanatic – until my sister brought me the DVD and told me that if I didn’t watch it, she’d cut my eyeballs out – totally kidding!
She did, however, tell me it was the cutest series she’d ever seen and although I only watched up until Episode 12, I’m hooked. Now I sit here at work fantasizing about the show and what on earth is going to happen next. It’s like my addiction to chocolate and it’s totally unavoidable.
The first Season (and only season so far), starts off with The Evil Queen of the fairytale-world interrupting Snow White and Prince Charming’s wedding and announces that she will put a curse on every character so that she is the only one with a happy ending.
The Evil Queen then goes about putting a curse on the fairytale-world, sending them to the real world (our world) and they have no idea that they are fairytale characters. Then, when the Evil Queen’s adopted son Henry gets handed a fairytale book by his teacher Mary Margaret (who happens to be Snow White in the fairytale world), he believes the fact that they are all characters from the book and that his birth mother, troubled 28 year old Emma Stone from Boston, is the saviour that will send them all back to where they belong.
In each episode we are told a story of what has happened to each of the characters and you figure out something new of the characters you grew up knowing and loving, like; Why is Rumplestilskin so devious? Why is Red Riding Hood suddenly so slutty? Why does the Evil Queen hate Snow White so much? And who is this Emma Stone anyway?
Do yourself a favour and make sure you get the DVD soon!
Have a lovely weekend poutlings…
A few weeks ago my best friend I decided to have a bit of a ladies night, so we went to go see “Snow white and the Huntsman”
Righto, so here’s your cast…
Kristen Stewart as Snow White
Charlize Theron as the evil witch
Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman (yummo)
Sam Claflin as the charming Prince
Righto, so you expect the movie to start as fairy tale does.. and guess what… it does… Snow White plays around in the garden with the prince, and he plays her a fool with an apple. Then the queen gets sick and passes away, and the King grieves. And out of no where some mystic dark army appears, and the grieving King goes into battle. Defeating the dark army, they come across a carriage, and behold inside, the pure and beautiful
bitch I mean, Charlize.
So dear king falls in love, instantly, ah a true faery tale. They get married and yes… as most women are… she rips out his heart on their consummation night… well ok, i mean she actually just stabbed the King in the heart and he died. She locks poor Snow White up in the dungeon and goes on ravaging the kingdom, and sucking the life out of all the pretty girls… literally…
So ona an on she goes, ravaging the kingdom, until there are almost no more pretty girls left, when one day she speaks to her crazy mirror, who tells her that Snow White has come of age, and is now prettier than her.
Oh but of course that cannot be allowed so she she sends her perverted brother to go get Snow White, so she can eat her heart… sick man…
So by some sweet miracle and the help from a bird, Bella Kirsten escapes from the dungeon, and from the palace and off she goes trotting into the woods. Which for some reason feeds on her fears and tries to kill her with trees and …gas .. so she passes out on the ground again… I wonder if they somehow couldn’t help not to duplicate a scene that sortof similar to the one where Bella was abandoned by Edward in New Moon ….
Then of course the dear Queen proceeds to get the Huntsman, bats her lashes and makes all kinds of promises to him, if he brings her “the girl who is of no importance to him” . So off he trots to the forest with a few men, and KAPOW!
Now I could go on and on and tell how it goes, but i won’t. The thing is, if you have seen the Twilight movies, don’t be surprised of most or all of this movie, seems to be the same. Kirsten has the same facial expression through 90% of the movie, although she played her role quite well, and Ms Theron played her role absolutely marvelous, i dare say she made an excellent witch. Some of the most serious parts of the movie, for some reason made me burst out in a fit of laughter. Overall, it was a good movie and nice to relax for a change, the outfits and settings were bloody well done.
