Manly Manicure Monday with Sorbet MAN

Listen up gents – Sorbet don’t only favour the fairer sex, they think you deserve some grooming too and because of this they have launched their male-only grooming emporium. Think beards, think musky smells, think all things manly – they’ve got you covered.

Sorbet launched their very first man-porium in September 2014 in Sandton City and are now following suit with opening the next in the chain line – a store in Bedfordview at Village View Shopping Centre. Sorbet Man

They understand looking good is not always as easy as the woke-up-like-this that you guys pull off so well and sometimes need some added grooming. Don’t think of it as a salon, think of it as a way to accentuate your manly ways with an added touch of polished perfection. They do not want the treatments to be seen as flash but they want their guests to feel relaxed, not intimidated and invited in a discerning manner.

The treatments on offer range from facials for tip-top skin care, to hair colour treatments, massages and “Man Plan” packages including the flagship, The 19th Hole: haircut, hot towel shave and a manicure. All of their treatments include complimentary whiskey, espresso and WIFI.

Sorbet MAN stocks internationally renown brands like Dermalogica, Blue Beards, Redken and KST.

If Sorbet is good enough to keep the ladies in your life looking on point there is no reason why Sorbet cannot make you feel good about your skin, hair and overall well being.

For more information on Sorbet MAN, check out Sorbet’s website.

Ladies, you are welcome to spoil the men in your life easily; and no worries, you’re welcome gentleman! 😉

Guest Contribution : Sorbet Hydro Skin SPF 15 Day Cream and Nigt Cream Reviews

When I heard Sorbet launched their own skincare range last year, I was extremely excited to give these products a try. Not much later Fi sent me these to be reviewed. I first finished the products I was using at the time, and excitedly started to use the Sorbet products.

Hydro Skin Set

I was sent the Hydro Skin SPF15 Day Cream and the Hydro Skin Night Cream. The Hydro Skin range was specifically developed to rehydrate tired and thirsty skin. If I would have purchased it, I would have chosen the exact same products. I am almost 33 years old and living in Mpumalanga with the dry and unpredictable weather really takes a toll on my skin.

The packaging of these products are beautiful. They look like glass pots, but are actually plastic. They look quite good on my dressing table with their clean cut look, compared to my other pots , bottles and potions with their overly branded labels. HydroSkin Day

The Day Cream is a rich face cream with a scent of fresh greens. Because it has a built in SPF of 15, I have stopped using a sunblock on my face daily. Eliminating one product during my morning routine really does make a difference. My skin  feels hydrated after application in the mornings, but the best part of this product is the fact that the moisture stays there the whole day. With this product I have no dry patches making their nasty appearance during the course of my day.HydroSkin Night

The Night Cream is a richer cream than the Day Cream also with a fresh green fragrance. I do not like my night creams to be overly fragranced to prevent irritation, but this scent is so subtle that it does not leave the skin feeling irritated or over stimulated. Of the two products, the Night Cream is my favourite. It is soothing and moisturising. In the mornings when I wake up my skin feels hydrated, soft and plump.

The Hydro Skin range contains ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Omega 3 & 6 Fatty Acids, and Vitamin A & E which are great because I have always loved for my skincare products to have Vitamin E in. It gives the skin that extra boost that we need with factors that damages it over time.

It has been a joy using these products. I also purchased the Sorbet Salon Skin Daily Polish Powder (R220) and it is a lovely product. Combined these three products make my skin feel soft, hydrated and moisturised. I will happily only use these products for the rest of my days as they compliment my skin in so many positive ways.

You can find the Sorbet products at Sorbet Salons and Clicks stores and both the Day and Night Cream will only cost R155 each. Finally a budget beauty range that does a great job!

First Impressions : Salon Skin Daily Skin Polish Powder

So, it’s taken me some time but I am finally diving into my wonderful Sorbet products that I received at the Sorbet Skin Show towards the end of last year. This morning, I was awake early (this does not happen often) and I had time to try the Sorbet Skin Daily Skin Polish Powder. Daily Skin Polish

I’ve been working through hoards of products in my beauty bathroom/desk and this one stood out today… I have neglected on the exfoliating of my skin in the past few weeks (bad bad beauty blogger) and it felt a bill dull so a good perk up with the help a light exfoliation helped my skin to feel not only a bit brighter but more alive.

Here was my morning. Excuse the morning face/hair. #iwokeuplikethis and all of that nonsense.

sorbet1

Left: morning face, unwashed face, sleepy eyes. Middle: busy using the powder mixed with the water. Right: Happy-ish face that has been rinsed.

So, essentially the product is a dry powder. You wet your hands thoroughly and squeeze a bit of dry powder into your wet hands and mix it together. It makes a gorgeous creamy concuction that you apply to your face and rinse off. It leaves your skin feeling smooth and slightly brighter. You are supposed to use it everyday but after one use I can see a noticeable difference and I’m prancing around today with no makeup on and feeling wonderful (bad beauty blogger again…. Sandy might disown me).

It retails for R220.00 from Sorbet salons and Clicks nationwide. I believe it will be an excellent addition to your skincare routine.

Guest Contribution : Give Sorbet a Hand…

When Fi of Pout Perfection gave me these two products to test and review, I immediately saw  the potential of  usig these two awesome products from Sorbet, combining them to make an even more fabulous ‘HAND TREATMENT’ and so here it is …

Step 1:

What is a hand treatment without removing all the old and dead skin first; here is a quick and easy scrub that you can whip up in seconds at home.

FI-3

Mix all the ingredients together and scrub your hands in the wash basin, rinsing with warm water afterwards.

**(the shower gel adds just a hint of foam which helps to remove the oily residue)

So now that we have removed the dead skin, let’s hydrate and soften the hands …

STEP 2:

Apply a thick layer of the hand & nail treatment to your hands and allow to soak in …

SORBET SPA ESCAPE NOURISH HAND & NAIL TREATMENTFI-1

This is a fabulous and rather decadent hand cream, it contains Sea Botanicals, Vitamins and Minerals to nourish revitalise and soften dry hands. It has a ‘marine’ type smell which is fresh, can be unisex and leaves a soft fragrance on the hands.

To me it is the perfect size for both handbags and your office desk, with its flip top cap it is super easy and convenient to grab on the run.

You can apply this lovely cream as often as needed and quite happily go on with your work; it leaves no oily residue behind at all.

Retails for R32.95

STEP 3:

Deeply moisturise with the moisture infusing gloves.

Fit the gloves onto hands and leave on for 15 minutes, whilst they do all the work for you.

SORBET MOISTURE INFUSING GLOVESFI-2

The moisture infusing gloves are designed to help treat and soften the hands whilst infusing moisture and preventing dehydration. The gloves have a soft rubber lining and are wolley on the outside, they smell like lavender.

I am not sure what other ingredients are included, as I could only find 10% petroleum. This is also the motivation behind choosing to apply hand cream (do let it soak in first) firstly and then using the moisture infusing gloves.

These gloves retail for R119.00

Sorbet products are now available in selected Clicks stores, they are budget friendly and make the most awesome stocking fillers for this time of the year ….go on spoil yourself I know you want to!

Sorbet Skincare Collection

Sometimes being a beauty blogger has additional perks like going to flashy events. Last week, I was fortunate to be invited to attend the launch of Sorbet’s latest offering. The Skincare Collection. The event was the #SorbetSkinShow which showcased the new range in a different light on a runway.

In a nutshell, this collection of skincare is split into 3 ranges for specific skin conditions, concerns and care. The ranges are:

Hydro SkinSorbet Hydro Skin

Developed specifically for tired and dehydrated skin that needs a boost. The 4 products in this range are designed to restore a bright and healthier looking complexion by incorporating moisture back into the skincare regimen.

Salon Skin Sorbet Salon Skin

Developed specifically for problematic skin concerns and curb irritated skin. Mixing a bit of science and nature together has resulted in the 8 products in this range which are designed to stop problem skin in its tracks.

Age EffectSorbet Age Effect

Developed specifically for mature skin that the signs of ageing skin are a concern. The 6 products in this range are an intense anti-ageing solution for a more plump youthful appearance with reduced appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Over the course of the next few weeks I will be incorporating a few products into my skincare routine. I will share my experience with these products with you.

All of these items will be available at Clicks and Sorbet stores nationwide. I believe a great present for anyone who is looking for an updated skin routine over the next few weeks of festivities!
