Photographed by Terry Richardson, he published some gorgeous snaps of her in black and white on his website and Sofia also appears on the August cover of Harper’s Bazaar.

For the record, Sofia, who is 41 years old believes in Sandy’s ‘Less is not more’ logic and doesn’t get tired of all the work she puts into being gorgeous bombshell, all the time:

“No, I’m Latin; I do it no matter what. It’s automatic. I shower, do hair and makeup. for me, it’s like shaving. I don’t believe in natural look. Lipstick brightens your face! Unless you’re Gisele Bundchen or 19, you need something!”

She’s awesome.

Lady Gaga Starts a Rumour…

Hiya Poutlings

We all know how much I love Lady Gaga like I love a hole in my head …..so I must say that I haven’t seen this coming. Although reports are not confirmed, shouldn’t you believe the rumours if they come straight from the horse’s mouth? In that case, the horse happens to be LADY GAGA, (not far off) and the rumour is that Versace is going to be doing the costumes for her upcoming tour, the BORN THIS WAY BALL.

Lady Gaga recently tweeted that Donatella Versace is going to be designing a makeover of the costumes for her ongoing Born This Way Ball. Unlike Gaga, I have a soft spot for Donatella, but only a small one.

Now, this is actually a rumour that we can start to believe. Donatella and Gaga have become fast friends, with their mutual love for Terry Richardson and vintage designs. Gaga was the first star that Donatella let browse the Versace vintage archives after the death of Gianni Versace. In fact, she went as far to don the iconic safety pin dress that Elizabeth Hurley made famous on the red carpet. Versace even outfitted Gaga for her 1980s inspired video Edge of Glory.

Sooo… this would make sense why these two have gotten so cozy lately. With Gaga’s perfume marketing extravaganza on the backburner, she can now focus on her upcoming album ARTPOP. With her recent collaboration with rapper Kendrick Lamar, Gaga appears to be striving for a new sound. Don’t believe me? Check out the preview for her video CAKE shot by Terry Richardson. It looks like Gaga wants to be Gagaganster… oh poor stutter.

Model Alert : Anja Rubik

Heya Poutlings!

“Nowadays, sex and nudity are either so vulgar or so prude”

Of course you know who she is.

ANJA RUBIK.

Over the past decade, she has racked up countless covers, ad campaigns and catwalk exclusives. Model.com recently ranked her number 18 in the top-earning high fashion models in the industry. Born in Poland, raised in Greece, Canada and South Africa, she is fluent in several languages. so, in true, Anja style, she is motivated to launch her her new Erotica-tinged magazine.

Anja Rubik, is the 29 year old model turned founder and editor of 25 magazine, which will debut this month.

In the first issue, which focuses on erotica from a woman’s point of view, was shot completely by female photographers, and includes work by luminaries like Emma Summerton, Annie Leibovitz, Paola Judacki, Camilla Akrans, Ellen Von Unwerth, and Corinne Day. It also features profiles of high powered women in the fashion industry like Liya Kebede, Inez Van Lamsweerde, Elettra Wiedemann, and Roxanne Lowit. Most of the contributors and subjects are people Anja has befriended during her long and successful modeling career, one which any apsiring model can only dream of, which began when she started attending a British high school in Paris.

She started getting involved in editorial work about a year and half ago, by accident. She started helping a friend who owned 25 magazine, which was then based in Austria. Her friend asked her to help with fashion projects and she organized a few shoots and as such she ended up being involved with changing the layout and choosing writers for the then 25 magazine. Her friend then duly wanted to get rid of the magazine and as such she took over the name, essentially making a whole new magazine with the same name as the old one. The 25 magazine will now be based from New York, instead of Austria.

“It was bothering me how the world is nowadays – how we approach nudity and sexuality and beauty. I thought it was really, really wrong, and I wanted to create something that goes back to the erotica of the seventies. I was searching for inspiration, and I looked at this magazine Viva, from the late sixties and early seventies, that inspired me. It was a Penthouse publication for women. I thought it was so beautiful and innocent, and very sensual and erotic, but all in very good taste. What happened to it all? Nowadays, sex and nudity is either so vulgar or so prude. So I wanted to create something inspiring, and beautiful, and sensual, to get people to think in a different way.”

When she was asked about Terry Richardson, world renown fashion photographer (who I recently shot Lindsay Lohan’s trigger happy set here) who has had a scandal going around him whereby he has been accused of using his power in the industry to inappraopriately take advantage of young girls. Anja said she has worked with Terry a few times and she liked him a lot, but she has never had a situation with him where she feels uncomfrtable. There were loads of rumours going around that she didn’t want to work with him on the Pirelli calender which she said was true because she knows his pictures and she was well aware she may not feel 100% comfortable in certain situations.

I started modeling quite young. I would really recommend to every girl not to start modeling until they turn 17, to be honest. Before that, I think you’re not mature enough. You see girls that are modeling who are 14 or 15, and I think that’s way, way too young. The best models in the industry are the ones who feel comfortable on the set. If she doesn’t feel comfortable, the images won’t be beautiful. There’s this idea that you have to do something or your career won’t go forward, but a girl should research the job beforehand and if she feels uncomfortable with it, she should just say no. If she feels uncomfortable, the photographer won’t be happy with her, and the client won’t be happy with her, and she will do more harm to her career than if she had just said no to begin with.”

Are you intruiged by her new magazine? I think it sounds fascinating. Will have to wait and see what else she has to offer to world of fashion.

Lindsay Lohan has done it again, and creeped me out…

Heya Pouters

Lindsay Lohan, has done a really interesting photoshoot, just to clarify by interesting, I do not mean that it is a “wow, awesome” sort of photoshoot, rather a “wow, this is really effing weird and kind of sad and it makes me feel uncomfortable kind of photoshoot“.

In her latest photoshoot with Terry Richardson, we get to see Lindsay loading a gun, holding it to her head, holding it under her chin, and putting it in her mouth, all while looking like she is going to burst into tears. We also get to see her smoking a lot, what’s new, and posing in various minimal clothing but I feel like the gun in the images is supposed to be focus here, so much that Terry Richardson removed them from his site. His choice of model for this is a good idea, bearing in mind how much of troubled soul Lindsay Lohan is, and these images bear a constant reminder that she is so troubled.

I don’t even know what to think… These images just feel so creepy and incredibly wrong to me, almost a mockery of the suicide part. I get that there is something “artistic” in death, but for the purpose of this post, more so suicide and hence why so many people try to portray it in various ways be it painting, songs, drawings, sadly photo shoots that are always poorly pulled off.

Just like these images, I don’t see much ART going on here, and yes, don’t get me started, art is supposed to provoke an emotion and make people think twice, I am aware of this, I know it all too well, however – I do not see how the way these images have been posed and/or captured artistically apart from Linday portraying SOME emotion in a few shots, apart from that, they just look cheap to me. So, maybe it is art, as its caused me to write an entire blog about them, but I just do not see it as art, or even remotely artistic.

Dont even get me started on this image above. But really, if I have to see Lindsay Lohan modelling, I’d at least like to see her doing something a little more fashionable, or artistic than hanging out of a hotel room with a gun in her hand… or is that just me?
