Bridesmaid Bummer

FYI: This post is sort of not safe for work unless if looking at backsides all day is acceptable and/or not really frowned upon. You never know, but just a friendly warning. BUM2

If you’re getting married in the foreseeable future, have you chosen your bridesmaids yet? Be sure to choose wisely, there are a couple considerations to take into account who are your closest female friends who would be willing to help you hold your dress when you need to pee, who will let you be a diva when necessary but who will kick you back into place when you’re being unnecessarily diva-like and most importantly who can drop it like its hot and squats until their bum is rock hard. You may think I’ve lost the plot, but you see if you spend as much time as me on the internet you will see that left, right and centre everyone is sharing this new trend of the bridesmaids (and sometimes the bride) hiking their dresses up for a “fun” shot in a Charlie’s Angels-esque posed photograph. Lingerie Letters – April 2013

Hi Poutlings!

20130417_174226If you didn’t see my Lingerie Letters product & service review from last month – clickety click! I just thought I’d share my April letter with you… and for everyone that giggled about my personal remark about sharing my knickers online, I’m doing it again….

20130417_174239

This month was a pair of French knickers, and Lingerie Letters had gone very tres chic with their love notes they send out along with the knickers!

20130417_174416I don’t think I own another pair of French knickers, which I believe are also called “tap pants” in the USA… They are more similar to a pair of boxer shorts, compared to traditionally fitted underwear. If you wear these during the day, be sure to pair them with very loose fitting pants or a flowing skirt as they can create quite a large visible panty line with the likes of wearing skinny jeans for example.  I think might become a new part of my nightwear, haven’t decided yet though.

20130417_174303

This month Lingerie Letters also sent along with the knickers “Comfitex Feminie Wipes“, which I assume are of a similar nature to the other products of the same genre on the market, but I have never read or can find any information on the company to be more informed, maybe Lingerie Letters would have more info on this?

Don’t forget to check out their website LingerieLetters.co.za and sign up for the one month option, for R95, if you are not sure about how this thing works, it’s fun, cute, a bit cheeky and a very unique idea! They are also quite interactive on their Facebook Page and I’m sure will respond to any queries you may have, alternatively, check them out on Twitter – @LingerieLetters

Lingerie Letters – March 2013

Hiya Poutlings!

So, I know I’m a bit behind on updating you on some of my recent purchases and experiences which I  am dying to share my  with our amazing readers, so here goes my first one (of many to come in the near future!)

If you love pretty things, underwear included, this one is definitely up your alley!

Lingerie Letters – Service & Product Review

The product and service is EXACTLY as the name suggests…. once you have signed up for the service, you will be guaranteed to receive a new pair of knickers in your post box, once a month. Just like that, SUPRISE.

I was slightly taken a back by this in the beginning, but being an open minded individual, I decided to give it a try and I need to say that I have been utterly impressed by the service and how ingenious the idea really is.

You sign up online with your personal details and every month you receive a suprise pair of knickers in the post. It is a different idea but its cute and it works, so very well.

The suprise element is definitely the best feature of this service, as you have the option to choose weather you want your favourite style, i.e. thongs, briefs or suprise me! and preferred size (XS – XXL) and then Lingere Letters suprise you every month with a new pair of drawers, in the post.

Website navigation: 9/10 & Payment: 9/10

Simple, easy, efficent navigation and payment

Notification of Payment: 10/10

I had just closed my web browser and received an email almost immediately that I was signed up for the next postage run

Suprise element: 10/10

by the time the item was in the post I had no idea that it had been sent! In fact, I am not sure how long it had been in my postbox for!!

Originality: 10/10

As far as I am aware, this is the first suprise lingerie postage service in South Africa, and the originality of the knickers they sent were unlike any I have seen in the shopping malls recently, so cute and fun.

Quality of the product: 10/10

These are by no means cheaply made, they are absolutely exquisite.

Price: 9/10

Afforable and competitive pricing, in line with the pricing in stores for buying individual pairs of knickers, especially if you buy the 6 month option. 20130402_08203320130402_082057

Packaging: 8/10

Thankfully the postage is rather discreet, the envelope is a plain white post which appears to be full, inside is the pretty Lingerie Letters envelope which encases the pair of knickers being sent to you in a small little sealed plastic packet. I was ever so grateful for the plastic packaging as I stated earlier, I do not know how long the post had been sitting in my postbox and I can tell that the envelope had been exposed to the elements, so the knickers were not damaged.

Now, that we know the service works because its been tried and tested by me… This would this be such a cute idea for a bachelorette gift for one of your close girl friends that is getting married… I think so.

this has to possibly be one of the most personal things I've ever shared on a post, my knickers. I saved you the fortune of seeing me parading around in them... jokes. ha ha, now stop looking at my knickers... moving on!

Chrysalis Lingerie : Specifically for Trans Women

Hi Poutlings

Transgender women are becoming more and more talked about and really, they are most certainly becoming more accepted and less taboo in todays society, and they are becoming an ever-growing demographic world wide… So it would make sense that new businesses would crop up to attend to their specific needs. Chrysalis Lingerie is a special lingerie that is marketed to transwomen, and it comes completel witha power-mesh panel that’s designed to create a seamless effect, so that those who wish to “pass” as a women can adequately tuck in their male genitalia.

Similarly, the bra comes with hidden pockets that “hold full-cup” insers to create the appearance of breasts (seems like this might be a useful invention for breast cancer survivors and women who have had mastectomies for a variety of reasons, too.) All of the Chrysalis lingerie models are transgender.

“I wanted a product that actually celebrated who we are, something that made us feel beautiful but is also practical. We’re done hiding. We’re done keeping quiet. We are a very diverse community, we do exist and we have explicit needs.” – Cy Lauz, Chrysalis designer.

I think it’s great and another step in the right direction towards transgender equality.

I hope RuPaul approves! 🙂
